I am so proud now of my country under the Trump/Pence Leadership. For the first time ( as a terrible ex First Lady once said ) " I am proud to be an AMERICA " after 8 lousy and embarrassing years.

we're singing this in choir (im in sixth grade) but i have the part the men are singing (i'm an 11 year old girl) and whenever i try to reach a lower pitch, my voice goes "CRICKITY CRACK HEY BITCH IM BACK" and i just silently die inside

The ending (according to my teacher) was cheesy. And we changed the lyrics because someone a couple of years ago complained about the lyrics not being "correct"

Hmm....don't understand why your teacher would have thought America the Beautiful cheesy, but I guess each to his own. Maybe he/she thought it was out of place in this kind of medley. So......I take back my pathetic comment. And interestingly enough....when I did this a few years ago I too changed the words back to the standard words for America the Beautiful that everyone knows. But in this case since we were singing to an audience of servicemen, the words were perfect so I left them like they appear in the medley.

No, my teacher removed the last "America!" (The high ones). As for the armed service songs, We changed some lyrics for the coast guard, and air force. (Yes, a veteran told us to change the lyrics)
