The thing about Jay ‘not being Filipino enough’ what’s difficult is that’s what all the ‘western’ trainees go through. Matthew isn’t seen in korea as korean, neither is Kamden - they’re called foreigners with black hair (I’m half Filipino half korean) So for me, still having pride in Jay matters from a diaspora point of view. Love y’all’s coverage and appreciate all the effort and passion you put into this.

I’m 1/4 Japanese but I don’t people should consider me Japanese representation if I ever became famous because I never lived there or even speak the language lol. Also I think people should be acknowledging Jay’s Chinese side as much as his Filipino because he’s equally both

@@ash.613 Jay has said though that he identifies as culturally half Filipino even if he's only 1/4 "ethnically" (he kinda used the word wrong but I think we get what he means), so it seems like he sees himself more as Filipino and doesn't have much exposure to his Chinese ancestry. There's a lot of Chinese by blood people in SEA (lots of Thai actors for example who people generally consider Thai instead of Thai-Chinese) who have been in the region for so long they've kind of lost the cultural ties to China, for example my family is Chinese by blood but half of them have been in Indonesia now for 4 generations and don't speak Mandarin at all and told me they identified as fully Indonesian because they're Indonesian citizens and are only familiar with that culture when they're "technically" only half or even not at all Indonesian by blood. So that could maybe be the case for Jay, I won't say it is with 100% certainty because he's only made that vague comment on it once from what I know but it is something to think about imo!

Ichan had not being training for a while with an agency after iland until 3rd quarter of last year if i remember properly but he had being composing and producing and has a couple of credits. Happy and proud to see him still going for his dream ❤

As a Jay 1pick I appreciated the initial call out of fans horrible behaviour by Kamden's dad, but he really should have left it at that. Must be difficult tho because those people's first instinct at seeing something they disagree with is to bully the other person. I'm with Adam about the "too feminine" comment. They haven't had that energy for any other performance (that we've been shown). When I watched the episode I was actually physically ill at that part because it seemed specifically designed to hurt his self-esteem. It was also borderline toxic masculinity. Like Adam said why didn't they say anything about Tomboy? They actually acted like the boys flawlessly understood Tomboy, which... no. At it's heart Tomboy is a subversive song about not meeting the expectations of your gender. The performance was cool but it was more punk rock cosplay and less gender. At least in my opinion 😅 Thanks for these videos. I'm so amused to see you guys filming on a root I used to jog every morning. I love getting some pro femme pro queer voices in the boys planet fandom. Over on reddit they're posting absolute trash about how no one would ever stan a group full of flamboyant members.

My list of contestants who were done the dirtiest Daeul, Krystian, Hong Hai, Anthonny Krystian was evil edited to the ground?!? He was working double time to translate?!? where are the translators mnet??? Mnet was threated by Daeul, Hong Hai and Anthonny Hong Hai and Anthonny were top 2 g group fancams and Mnet was shaking . "Why are these jungle Asians at the top?" Mnet knew so they decided to give little screentime / just show reactions / no storyline. Daeul and Anthonny were in top 9 then Mnet got scared they gave them too much screentime in the first 2 episodes, then episodes later deletion or villain edit Apparently Daeul's villain edit was out of context, Apparently Daeul originally said that he doesn't want to switch parts... because it would take too long for him to relearn the dance cause he's slow.

Hwanhee leaving was a big disappointment to me, it seemed like we might be on our way to getting a Seungyoun (aka Woodz)-type storyline with him. Since he's a /hyung/, a goof and everyone loves him for being a 'moodmaker'. I feel like we're really missing that hyung/leader storyline in BP and I'm SAD about it. One of my favourite parts of Broduce & PDX was watching Jonghyun & Seungwoo leader the shit out of everyone and Jinhyuk single-handedly teaching like half the trainees how to rap. Tho I am loving the ✨️Mother✨️ storyline which feels new & good. But if Mnet tries to give us anymore Matthew vs Hanbin, I will riot. I need at least one happy hyung & son ending.

About Yedam not getting votes for being short: idk if you guys watched produce x 101 or if anyone remembers him but one of my favorite trainees was Suhwan, people compared him to SVT's Woozi a lot not only because he had similar features but also because he was an extremely talented vocalist and he's almost the exact height as Woozi. His entire narrative on the show was that he was an independent trainee because no company would sign him because of his height. They would rather get a tall trainee that wasn't as talented as him. I really hoped some big company would sign him after he constantly proved himself in pdx101 but it didn't make a difference. He ended up setting up his own company and debuting solo with songs he makes with a couple of people he knew (he has great songs btw his voice is beautiful). Btw I found this like last week but apparently he's friends with Sung Hanbin? Hanbin appeared in one of his videos. Anyway, Yedam reminded me a lot of him since the 1st ep because even though he constantly got all-stars and ate on stage people didn't really care. Something else I've been thinking about since I saw that Keita has almost no Korean voters: I'm convinced that it's just because he's short. Because he truly has everything, you cannot point out a single flaw in that man's performance or even in his personality. Justice for my short kings!!!!! They may be short, but their talent is gigantic!!! I will never understand why that's a thing people care about.

The documentary style intro to each member so so funny and well done! But omg yeah I agree that the saddest part of this is that a lot of these trainees see this as their last chance and so its such a bitter ending when they get eliminated. Like I hope they won't give up, but having watched past produce season, they often do. It's kind of the last you see of some of them It's pretty heart breaking but I mean the industry is so grueling I don't fault them for it. Like there's this rumor going around Haruto got into Korea University and if he does make it on Boys Planet he's just gonna go study which is both sad and hilarious because thats not like the worst fate tbh, but like I do think he has that star quality to him which id hate to see wasted. Anyway yeah I really hope to see a lot of these trainees in future groups and I feel like I will actually shed tears next elimination I can't even think about it 😭

I didn't watch the first few episodes so it's only what I've heard here but I was fully expecting a Haknyeon Broduce storyline down to the T for Daeul. So I'm not surprised by the evil editing or the hate (tho its disappointing af) but the fact that mnet dropped him so soon and so hard was a shock to me. I thought they'd keep him around for the popularity at least a bit longer. I adore Haknyeon, The Boyz are my ults and he was instrumental in getting me into them. I was really rooting for Yedam. He is so talented and I love his dancing especially with his hight it looks so good. Hwanwoong of Oneus (who is also about Yedams hight) ones said that is hight is his strength and I would say this for Yedam too. He was my favourite performer in Law and I really hope that we will see him debuting sometime soon

I kinda disagree on the whole Jay not being Filipino part tbh. I understand his only 25%. But he has stated culturally his 50% as in he leans towards it. The other 50% being well the American culture I’m assuming. As someone with poc background myself as long as someone isn’t like .1% or some shit and they are part of the culture and practice it why shouldn’t they be considered part of it?.Tbh I just feel sad for Jay since he does consider him self Filipino but everyone else keeps stripping it from him. Even Anthony fans kept calling Anthony “the real Filipino” to jab at Jay and his fans. But I do understand since you probably had a closer connection to Anthony bc his 50%. But pls don’t also strip Jay culture from him just bc his 25%. I wouldn’t want my culture stripped from at least just bc people don’t think I’m not good enough

Also, I thought that Inudan jab was because someone made a video promoting jay that got some views and one of the reasons in said video was "Filipinos should vote jay cause his mom is half filipino" or something and some Inudans were triggered cause 😅 And I don't think it's a just cause of 50% thing or a percentage thing, Anthonny understands tagalog/visayan, and he was born and raised in the ph till eight years old, he was shown packing filipino snacks on the show (piattos), so many preshow pics of him in the ph with jolibee, lechon, etc

Jianyu rap i don't think he was able to showcase his rap as much due to language barrier but he is a really good rapper i don't if you guys know or i mentioned it before but krystian Zhang shuaibo Chen jianyu Chen Yugeng and xuanhao were all ywy3 trainees This show sadly ended terribly and due to scandals etc... Survival Shows were banned in china and the saddest part is bp was like the first show in 2 years as a chance for Chinese trainees but most were evil edited 🥲 But where has the time gone is one of my favourite performance it is emotional and jianyu killed it there i also recommend checking him rapping to daechwita it was so good like i think the fastest I've heard him rap Also their performance no one was all jianyu idea apparently because he is a Stephen Chow fan and it was an homage to him 🥺🥺
