Really a welcome surprise to see this video from you and in your lovely city of Oslo - and great start back . The mini history lesson is so amazing as well. As always, you explain details in such an accessible way . Thx also for saying how this last year has affected you and literally changed what you could do for the time being . So important to document what this pandemic has changed for all of us around the world . Looking forward to the stories about the places and people from your country you want to tell us. That makes your videos unique for those of us who don’t need constant entertainment but more interesting and informed content! Both on and off the waters, but certainly seeing the beautiful nature of Norway and learning more about sailing your waters all is really special. Subscribed and happy to support your continued video adventures ! Till the next video, be safe and well !

Hei Rachel, thanks a lot for your thoughtful comment. I'm glad you enjoy the videos. It has has been and still is an important distraction for me during the pandemic. And as you say it's important to document how it has changed our lives. Thanks again, take care and stay healthy :)

Thanks for the video. Very interesting and we look forward to the next one. M.A. and I are hoping all of our friends at Rick Steves can financially survive through 2021 and you all can be back doing what you are so good at doing - taking a bunch of Americans around. We miss it. And that wonderful herring.

Good to see your videos back. I have done some “ mighty” traveling this past year on KZbin. Hopefully we can all get back to the real thing soon. It’s been So much like The Ground Hog Day movie around my house this year, I had to buy a clock that tell me the time, date, month, and day just to get my bearings. Next time I come, I intend to spend more time in Oslo; I miss reindeer and cloud berry deserts! Ancestry tells me that I am 5% Norwegian now.
@norwaywithpal3 жыл бұрын
Hei Joe, all though only 5%, it is a lot better than 0% ;) The reindeer and cloud berries are here waiting for you. I've done a fair amount of YT-traveling as well, but it just ain't the same... Take care and hope to see you in Oslo some day

Hovedøya was such an escape on hot summer days. I miss the islands of Oslo so much! Thanks for highlighting them for everyone to appreciate.

Hei Grant, you welcome! I'll probably make another episode about Hovedøya as soon as summer has set in and it has turned green and full of flowers :)

Hi Pal, Great to see you are healthy and appear happy. Wish I had the command of history and facts you have. As always you did a good presentation. Would love to visit Norway again and see this island.

Hi Pal - so good to see you again and that you are well and keeping up good cheer despite the pandemic. As always I will look forward to your next adventure. I love the idea of the bubble harbor - what a great concept! Take care, Janet.

Hi Janet, nice to hear from you. The bubble harbor is a great idea for sure, and the members of the marina take turns going out there regularly to ensure they are still bubbling :) Hope you guys are doing well

Nice video! Here in Chicago the boats have to be hauled out every winter. So, much nicer that you don’t have to deal with that. I look forward to more videos. From, The Bad Sue
@norwaywithpal3 жыл бұрын
Hey Sue, yea I'm really glad I can keep her on the water. Some people like to haul out their boat every year here, but I don't really see the point. Old habit for some I think... hm I thought you were The Good Sue, I always mix you up ;) well nice to hear from you, and say hi to The Good Sue
@susanwebber55573 жыл бұрын
The bad Sue has more fun! Do you think Norway, Sweden and Denmark will be allowing tourists late summer? @@norwaywithpal
@norwaywithpal3 жыл бұрын
@@susanwebber5557 that is a really hard question... I can only guess of course. I think in best case from July visitors can enter and travel around freely if they have taken the vaccine, but with some restrictions here and there. But that is best case. Are you coming to visit? :)

@@norwaywithpal Sue and I are in the one of the RS French tours at the end of September. If that doesn’t go, I was hoping to maybe go back to Sweden by myself.

Always great to see you and the beautiful areas in and around Oslo. You look fit, healthy, and happy... so what more could you ask for? I expect 2022 is going to be fantastic for all of us. I hope you've had your vaccination(s) and that you're continuing to take good care of yourself. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Barry! I'm a happy salmon as we say in Norway. But my vaccine is still far away. Even my dad who is 72 has not had it yet. We are far behind you guys in the US. Still, I'm glad to see my US friends getting the jab, getting back to more of a normal life and hopefully coming to visit us in Europe soon :)

Interesting video. I learned something new with the water bubbles to protect against ice formation, is there any power and water in your berth or is it just storage?. It is practical to be so close to the center of the city, a quick scenic boat ride. Is your Albin fibreglass or aluminum/steel? I watch Rick Steves on PBS. His shows are well done. I saw the one on Norway. It was interesting and informative. It looks big budget. I enjoy the human aspect of your videos, more intimate. it's also informative and its nice to get a true Norwegian perspective and point of view. As I world traveller I find that the most enjoyable and educational of travel. Glad you found a way of working through the covid period. Keep up the good work. Alex

Hi there, I have both power and water, and its a fiberglass boat. And you are right, very practical to be so close to the city center, and at the same time not a single car around :) Thanks again for your nice comments!

Ciao Benny, I'm glad you like my videos! I also think KZbin is a good way to find new friends around the world, and to get to know other parts away from home. Kind of a virtual travel experience, which I guess is the only travel experience nowadays. Take care :)

Why is it after each episode my list of "must do/see" gets longer and longer?? With that, you've helped add interest that my boys had never had before with regards of traveling. I hope to travel with them to Norway in the future! Thank you for sharing and I can't wait to see where your sailing adventures take you this year. :)
