So happy to see BlackHole Cases getting the love that they deserve. Easily the best cases on the market

I love that no matter how many Eurorack setups I see - big and small - they never stop seeming as beautiful and mysterious and amazing as the first time I saw them in the Mother-32 era beautiful cases and elegant setup you've put together. I've got some mobile setup options to take out of the studio, but yours is much cleaner and better-organized, I love it! really fun video to watch :) I'll check out some of your music later today!

Same here. I really enjoy setups where someone is trying to use the format to build themselves and instrument or setup that would be otherwise impossible or impractical. So much creativity packed in the tiny niche of modular
@NICUofficial2 жыл бұрын
@@thismeanswarbasse god it really is just one of the coolest instruments of all time. There's just nothing else remotely like it. I like what you're saying about impossible instruments, are there any specific examples you're thinking of? (give me a link to it??)

love what you've done with those lids haha. My case has a carrying case, but no pocket for the power brick etc. I might have to sew something like that onto it at some point
@thismeanswarbasse2 жыл бұрын
The power bricks have been probably one of the trickiest parts to get right for me. I’ve even swapped out the standard cable that extends from the brick to the wall with a flat right-angled outlet end so that they can be plugged in and more flush with the power bank. It’d be so nice if those could be built into the case themselves, especially with all the room behind most modules.

Dude your videos are awesome. Super chill and interesting. I would add a small paint brush to the microphone bag so you can clean the modules (i even use that type of brush to clean the gear in my studio)

thank you and yeah that’s a great idea! I keep a swiffer duster thing nearby in my studio room but that’s a great call for the travel bag

Man, I love those type of cases. I have a Red 7U 120HP case from Clank though(Clank does not make these models in color anymore) love it. So, was looking into getting another case similar to Clank. These look nice.
@thismeanswarbasse Жыл бұрын
I was looking at Clank cases originally when I picked the first of these two up and am happy I made the decision I did. I've had them for a while and they still seem basically brand new
@danielprovder2 жыл бұрын
I was lucky enough to find an old 7U Elite case including a second lid with rails & power. Consequently I have the modules on the bottom-half mounted upside down similar to yours’. The mic mount on the lid is pretty neat, & I like how the extra lid space provides ample storage. Have you looked into considating power into a single adapter? My og power module, 4ms has a pass-through, but to use it I'd have to sacrifice 4hp...

Niceness! If you move your mics to other case lid you can sidestep fan noise 😊
@thismeanswarbasse Жыл бұрын
True! But sometimes I just want the A case by itself like so: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYWppJSveNVgerc I’m sure the stacking setup in this particular video probably isn’t helping the fan stay cool at all though…
@foobarbazqux Жыл бұрын
@@thismeanswarbasse I’m using Ableton CV Tools and want more I/O than anybody offers, so I gotta start a petition for Expert Sleepers to build a case with a built-in 1U bus interface and 24/24 I/O. I think that would cover me for the duration 😆

If you decide to customize the lid like I did, I think there is an email contact form on their site - or you could try IG DMs which worked for me back when I picked these up.

Love your videos, KZbin randomly decided to share your channel with me, so recently subbed! How long do are you able to power both cases with that brick? Very cool portable setup!
@thismeanswarbasse Жыл бұрын
Hey thanks! I think last time I tried it out, it was in the 1-2 hour range? It’s been a while and my second case has changed a lot since then. I can give it another run sometime this week and let you know a more accurate number. Module power consumption is of course all over the place depending on your setup but it should be a decent average I think

How long does a battery charge last? My Eurorack is much smaller than yours… also the Blackhole cases are amazing and made 30 minutes away from me… I’ve tried to reach out to the owner of the company but he didn’t reply… I assume he is busy with his band and building awesome cases 😎

will it fit in the plane's overhead compartment? or slide under the chair?
@thismeanswarbasse2 жыл бұрын
Each case measures 21.75” x 13.25 x 7.75, all of which are under the 22 x 14 x 9 limits based on my googling. So it should fit overhead, but I’ve never tried.
