Thanks for your insight! My local FBM is a garage sale. Most of the woodworking items that are similar to things I’d like to build are priced too low for me to compete, even if my build quality would be better. Also, I legitimately don’t have much more than a couple hours combined per week due to family and work obligations. I’m finishing up some basic garage shelving that I’ve been working on for over a week. Most would get it done in a Saturday. What I am planning to do is make a few serving trays and then list them. I just can’t handle any obligations for on-demand or custom builds right now. Thanks again!

Your mention of people that see your product in a friend's home and then you get a referral from that is powerful. A beginner could maybe build a business with no advertising with that going on. Like make an awesome product that is low-priced compared to the perceived value and the referred customer wants something similar etc.

I’m ramping down my career and have been making stuff, haven’t sold any yet lol but I’ve given plenty away with the caveat that I get an honest review good bad or what could be better. Just started working in my llc so I can be legit. I’ve posted to marketplace a few times and have not gotten any traction so we’ll see. I’ll use your advice on listings and see if that helps. Thanks

Construction lumber, pocket holes, applying glue AFTER you’ve already stained the pieces, and so much more. I’m not here to bust your stones. Evidence you have a market of some sort for what you do, but I could never bring myself to make something like this! I’m sorry, but I I’d rather make 1 piece I can be proud of over making 10 or 20 of these. I clicked on the video because I was intrigued, now. I’m just like “wow”! Best of luck to you brother.

@@TheHumbleCarpenterlook, if you thought that was rude, then the internet might not be for you. Though unsolicited, I was just offering my take on the content. The world isn’t all sunshine and rainbows my friend. Some of the most beneficial advice I’ve gotten over the years has come from constructive criticism (negative comments as you would probably call them). It forced me to look at what I was doing and find was to improve. It’s not always about being a d!ck, sometimes it’s about saying what others won’t. And as for him having the balls to make videos and show his work, bravo. Seriously, I applaud him for that, but in doing so, you take the good comments with the bad. Have a nice day.

Guys, you know there’s an old saying that I think is very useful at a time like this: if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. This guy had the courage to start a KZbin channel and put himself out there subjecting himself to harsh criticism and yet had the courage to do it anyway. Do either of you have the courage to do that? If not, maybe next time consider keeping your unproductive and purely insulting comments to yourselves. We need more kindness in this world and this is a great place to start.
