If you see a shirtless ripped model you can safely assume he's healthy and assuming someone is healthy isn't bad in anyway unlike assuming someone is threatening just by the way they dress. And in this case we know his occupation is a delivery driver which is an active occupation and he's not overweight which is a good indicator that they are healthy. Maybe not the stereotypical "vegan model healthy" but healthy as in he takes care of himself.

A ups man saved my grandmas life. Her house was on fire in the early morning as she was sleeping. He got her out safe and called for help. The fire had started in the attic above her bedroom. It was a total loss of the house but thanks to him she was still alive.

Employment doesn’t give a flying fuck about you because there’s so many of you and you’re so easily replaced. There’s a total of 60 iq total out of the however so many thousand people in a warehouse (yes it’s that bad the dumbest people I’ve ever met worked at ups). Literally do the same thing everyday. Same routes, same packages, same problems that aren’t resolved, same lazy ass employees. Pitiful job I’d rather do construction or manual labor somewhere else for free.

My father worked for Ups for 41 years started right after he got out of Vietnam, he was a helicopter mechanic. He told me that Boeing offered him a job but at the time long haul drivers at Ups were making more than what he was offered. As far as I know he has no regrets and loved working there.

Depends on what you consider good. When I left it was $800 a week whether you worked 20 hours or 60 hours. It's up to $990 a week now, but you've gotta take into consideration that you won't have a family life at all. I was going to bed at 6-7 P.M. getting up around 1:30 A.M. working until 1-2 P.M. going home, taking a nap, waking up cooking dinner, and then going right back to bed. Did that for a year and a half and finally said enough was enough and found a different job. It's less money, but I no longer work weekends or have to wake up at 1 in the morning.

The good thing about staying part time too is that my vacations stay "in the hub" which means that I'm picking vacations with people that have waaaay less seniority than me as opposed to package where everybody has waaaaay more seniority than me and I still get the weeks I want. If it wasn't for my church situation I'd go full time though. It's just really not an option for me with as unpredictable of a schedule as we have.

My UPS driver is cool as hell! I always meet him at the truck so he doesn't have to walk up my long driveway. I ordered a big package and it ended up coming on a very rainy day here in Florida and he helped me carry it all the way into my house even though he was soaked to the bone. He dried off a little but didn't want to stay since he had more packages to deliver that day. Fantastic guy hands down

I worked as a driver helper for three season. I didn't work from the truck but delivered using a gas cart and trailer. Sometimes people couldn't hack the job and quit. I worked the San Antonio, TX. circuit. I had two routes which started at 0900 hrs. till 1800 hrs. One day on Christmas Eve I was asked if I could do one more route because everyone wanted to head out to the parties. Since I wasn't a party person and retired from the military and Boeing, I performed the tasking. Started about 1900 hrs. and didn't finish until around 0400 hrs, this in was in Windcrest, TX. Some may say that I was stupid or crazy, but I was happy to get those packages out for somebody's waiting hands. Rain was in the works; yet, it was a place where people brought their families to see the massive Christmas Displays-I wasn't out there alone. You do meet all kinds and types of people out there . Had a lady who wanted me to come by after work and eat dinner with her -yes I declined; had an lady that and I quote, "I want to kiss you but my husband in the next room!"; people offering me big money to deliver the undeliverable screen TVs. But other than that you do meet some very good clients. One more for the road, I was delivering to a house and these guys came across the street and said, "Can we ask you a question?" I said yes you can. The leader of the qroup said my fellow workers and I are trying to figure out why you in an UPS uniform was driving a golf cart making deliveries. "Did you get in trouble at work and they took your truck from you and now they making you drive this cart to make your deliveries?" After explaining my job we had a good long laugh about it. Just finished delivering ingredients for ammo reloading. Thought that would share the fun and experiences that you can have as a driver helpers.

Shawn Clear ohio. I jumped for them one season, they made me drive half hour away meet the driver, work 2.5 hours then go home. I know several drivers at the hub most have now left. Management is extremely irrational and vindictive. Long term employee tells them a week in advance has important appointment needs done by 7p. They load him heavy that day then pile on extra pickups at 6pm. Meanwhile the 3 other drivers in the area finished at 5:45. Stuff like that.

My dad has been working for them for 24 years, kudos to you sir! I saw firsthand growing up how hard of a job this actually is, not to mention the long hours keeping him away from home. One of my fondest memories as a little girl is my dads boss letting me check out the back of his fully loaded, very hot truck before he would leave to do his routes, you couldn’t tell me my dad wasn’t the coolest. 😂

Great job! I started in '82 also and just retired 6/2018. I loved it. Not necessarily the job but the people. So many good folks out there. I miss it. Some you go back out and visit, but it's just not the same as being their UPS guy. Met my wife on my route in west L.A. I love your line "just enough to stay out of their way". I know a lot of guys go feeder driving, but package keeps you alive inside.

Integrity, commitment, and true love for what you do. I am writing this after seen a 100 videos of this New Wave of idiots mistreating packages, stealing, and not giving a flying f for the things that families go out of their way to obtain be it for a little bit leisure in their lives or for work! Is really sad when you have thousands of people having to get security cameras not only for thieves but for some percentage of Mailman. Seeing this reminds me those type of people are the exception to the rule, or so one would hope it would be.

I’m one of the million package handlers working for UPS and let me tell you, we bust our asses. Getting up at midnight or so, clocking in just to load up 1,500+ boxes within a 6 hour period. You can’t stop to breathe, that’s for the one 10 minute break you get halfway through your shift. A lot of times the packages are beyond your body weight and many times as you’re moving that large package you’ve already had 10 pass you on the belt. I very much enjoy working my job, but it can be taxing. A lot of get beyond stressed, even to the point of people breaking out into arguments/fights. We don’t mean to act that way, we’re just worked VERY hard. Thank you for acknowledging us, too! Package handlers and drivers try their best

I am a seasonal UPS Driver Helper who my driver, my supervisors like me so much because of my work ethic, hard work my reliability and my understanding of the DIAD that they want me to become a UPS Driver one jockingly said that I can a finish a route all by myself but I don't want to one of the reasons is that I'll likely end up working in a rough route in a inner city neighborhood and I hate those places they only reserve the best routes for the guys with the most seniority, another reason is that it is not what I want to do in life I hate the notion of staying in a dead end job I have more important goals to do.
