This is a great video, I'm currently an Amazon driver and considering i'll probably never be able to retire driving for Amazon I've been looking into ups full time driving and found out they make really good pay and have great benefits. After doing much reading on Google without actually watching any videos about driving for UPS, I was at the very least intimidated lol. This video is reassuring that it's not too much different than driving for Amazon minus different procedures and rules that you guys have to go through, other than that though I'm excited to make the transition here in about a year-and-a-half. Hopefully I don't have to start off in the warehouse, I've been reading about that as well, would much rather start up as a part-time driver, but whatever I have to get through in the beginning to become a full-time driver I figure it's worth it. I’m an Amazon driver (Carle Place NY, Long Island). I usually get between 300 and 350 packages a day (sometimes close to 400) because I’m so good at the job. My routes are always very tight with the stops being very close together. Long Island is home to eight million people so I’m never delivering in rural areas. I usually get to my route at noon and I deliver until about 7:00 o’clock. If I have a lighter day I can finish earlier than that. I usually get between 240 and 280 different locations on a route. I usually have a very heavy workload. Long Island is also very congested so I’m usually in terrible traffic, even on Sundays. I started in November 2023 after I lost my previous job as a coach cleaner for Metro North Railroad. I found something I’m very good at and I have no plans on leaving anytime soon.
