I used to work with a friend that would make models in blender and I would handpaint the texture, and it was so fun!! We did multiple commissions together and split the money lol

Why dont u just cut out the concept design and place it over the uv's?
@harrysanders8182 жыл бұрын
Same question here, it literally screamed for that :) Some adjustments and fixes on the sides inevitable due to the projection, but would have been quick as hell and accurate for a 1:1 match. Of course, handpainting is a lot of fun! Probably a lot of "feel" out of that joy, lending the model a certain touch, you can not reproduce by just projecting.

Hey, you're right, it would have been very VERY fast to do that, but not every concept have such neutral light or perfect volume that can be transfered in 3D. So yeah, for this concept it's a bit silly to do with my workflow but I learned a lot of thing doing this and you can't fail because the concept gives you everything. Now I'm doing much harder props with concept that needs to be changed or adapted for a 3D render and I struggle less thanks to this very basic (and cool) props ;). This is a vey basic execise I did with a perfect concept to adapt in 3D. The main goal was to learn not being fast.

hello! is it somehow possible to make handpainted assets with glass parts which meant to be transparent? Like fish tank or something. Can't find info anywhere =(

This doesn't sound like "very beginner" at all. Just for one he's recommending Maya for 3D modeling. A VERY expensive software. And while it's industry standard it's also really hard to learn, unless you go to art school.

Was interesting to watch the workflow but calling this a "very beginners guide" is misleading. Love this channel but please don't sacrifice produciton quality to have guest videos, send the dude a good mic to record with, help him script more etc

You don’t need to use any program that he’s using, you can do the model in Blender, Max, Modo, whatever you’d like and then you can paint in any program you want such as Photoshop, Krita, ProCreate, Blender. He’s showing you his workflow and process, it can easily be translated to other programs

@@gilserranito951 I'm pretty sure they meant to ask if the same workflow can be transferable to blender. Correct me if I'm wrong. And you can do everything he did with only free software, like blender and krita. (@Dr. Dave) You can just search in KZbin "texturing in blender with camera projection" or something similar, there's a good video about this by Gleb Alexandrov, and another good one by someone that shows this process for creating stylised work like arcane's

You don't have to wait for a tutorial if u get the fundamentals from this video. Make your model in blender, set your uv and bring it up to clipstudio/Krita paint the texture and bring it back to blender to render.

Dude, you can legit do everything he did in Blender, just make the model and paint it there or in Photoshop/Krita/Affinity/Whatever, this is a workflow breakdown, you can translate all of his steps into any other program
