Why would they change the design from the 2023/2024 version????? It's so freaking ugly now. And moving the ports from the back to the sides is a MASSIVE L. I also dislike the ports moving to the sides, but it might have something to do with designing a proper cooling system. Let's see how it looks on the inside. Wonder why they redesigned it. Its the same 175 TDP GPU, and gen8/gen8.01 cooling handled it just fine. Sine there is no way newest Intel/AMD CPUs are as much of a heater as raptor lake was, its hard to see why they needed to change something that worked. Particularly sacrificing ports at the back and understated concervative look at the process, both were quite wellcome. Still, old Lgeion 7 was a no frills performance beast in a well built upgradable chassis, often at over a grand less than its performance competitors. Hello, thank you for your good video! Can I ask a question about the legion cooling? I want to buy the Legion Gen9 (2024) version. I saw that the legion 7i pro Gen 9 uses liquid metal heat dissipation. Does it reduce durability and safety? Because I heard that liquid metal has the risk of displacement and leakage. I need to use a laptop for four to five years, and I don't pursue temporary good performance. Originally, I am waiting for the discount of pro 7i. But is it safer to choose 5i pro or 7i with PTM7950?
@NotebookcheckReviews14 күн бұрын
While we do not have any "hard" numbers, I have never heard of a laptop that failed because of liquid metal "leakage"! Usually, manufacturers put a lot of safeguards in place to make sure that doesn't happen!

Moving the ports off the rear is a fail. By a quirk of fate, my two primary laptop locations have wall sockets to my right. Any laptop with power inputs on the left, which will leave me with a power cord snaking across the entire table, is a pass.
