An American watching this interview in January, 2025: I thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing, though I have not heard of, nor seen the series, and I know nothing about the story! It intrigued me, and now I would like to see it! Thanks for sharing this fascinating interview!

As an ex-pat i so miss this witty, off the cuff, self deprecating humour that seems to come so naturally to Englishmen and is so totally lacking elsewhere.

Fabulous discussion, thank you team for sharing about the creation of this epic socio political drama of our times. The two tones were brilliantly enhanced by the quirky beat of background music. Watching this after Ben Whishaw's Golden Globe win, would like to know how Norman Scott feels about Ben's performance as him.

Dear Trumpets Harts, I heard that the real Norman Scott said that he wasn't very happy about being portrayed as "such a Nancy boy." Whether he actually said that or not, I don't know. All I do know is that 'A Very English Scandal' is, without doubt, one of the best, if not the best, British dramas I've ever seen. And I've only seen the first 2 parts! I'm Australian and we always get British TV shows about a year or so after they're shown in Britain. The 2nd part was on last night here ( Sunday, 15th March) and I can't believe I have to wait another 7 days before I can see the final episode. Oh, woe is me, what shall I do?!?!!! I'm pathetic, I really am. From Amanda in Melbourne. ;-)

The interviewer / host felt like she was on edge/ very tense or angry about something...but Grant's presence relaxed the tense air on stage. look forward to watching this film.

Sue Perkins is deeply irritating. I’m sure they could’ve got someone a lot better to conduct the interview.
@reidunbrown79712 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. She is spectacularly devoid of talent, and bores everyone except herself!

My guy, she's fine. It's Stephen Frears needing to be woken up for every question that kills the mood.

@@ginge641 He warms up as the session goes along. He actually has a VERY dry wit and is refreshingly direct in his answers.
