I have the elvie and the elvie stride. I love both so much and I would recommend both to every pumping mom! Unless you need to have a almost silent pump for work (pumping in quiet public environment), I would recommend the stride over the regular elvie. It’s cheaper and also stronger suction for if you are needing to increase/maintain your supply and want to use the portable pump often. The stride is by far my favorite pump ever!

Hi Sarah. Thanks for helpful info comparing elvie and elvie stride. I am exclusive breastfeeding for my baby. Can you please tell me the suction between elvie stride and medela in style( if you use medela)?

My Elvie(I have two pumps) no longer holds a charge/will not charge at all and I used them for 6 months and had them a total of two years. I stored them for about a year or so in a temperate part of my home and followed Elvies guidelines for long term storage. I think I was only 1 month outside of the warranty and they only offered 5% towards a new purchase. FYI.

Thank you seriously so much. I’m 37 weeks and honestly was so conflicted just due to the small storage size and the expensive price!!!

This was incredibly helpful! I have a 1.5 year old and one on the way. I exclusively pumped with my first and it went well for about 7 months then I stopped. I was considering this pump for convenience purposes, just because having to sit stationary for 20-30 minutes multiple times a day can feel very isolating. But like you had mentioned, hand expressing and haaka pumps can really take the place of the hands free pumps. The price point on these have always been a huge setback for me, especially if you don’t use it as much as you think you will.
@MoreSereinWu3 жыл бұрын
So happy my video was helpful! While convenient I still think Elvies have a lot of flaws and isn't realistic to exclusively use to feed your baby or even to maintain your supply. If you really want one to be more mobile (which you still have to sit or walk relatively still) try looking for a gently used one and replacing the parts, much more affordable and what I would personally do in the future.
@hayleymar3 жыл бұрын
There are also smaller portable pumps, like the babybuddha that can be worn on a lanyard around your neck. Still have to deal with the flanges and collection cups hanging in front of you, but you would be able to get up and move around a fair bit.

I watched this out of curiosity bc I just posted a video very similar reviewing the willow and I wanted to see how the Elvie compares- the willow has allll of these exact same issues! For $500 it’s simply not worth it. Thanks so much for the review

Thanks so much for the honest review! I was getting a bit frustrated with the mechanics of pumping with my spectra & building up my supply. I thought Elvie would solve all my issues! Appreciate the details you included in this video!

I'm really happy this video helped you out. Breastfeeding is so damn hard, harder than you can ever imagine till you go through it and as women we try everything for our babies. What I realized was that building up my supply wasn't worth the emotional or mental agony. Making sure I was eating enough and hydrated, like seriously hydrated helped the most. Good luck and you've got this mama

Yes I use this for when I need to take my baby to an apt and it saves time . Only for convenience, and worth it , but not for anything else , just easy to drive or wait in a waiting room w the Elvie . Can’t hold the baby , bend … so on . I used it not in the beginning, I wouldn’t start w this one .
@lexis26603 жыл бұрын
Yes I absolutely do not like the Pump it literally only stops at 3 ounces for me, and when they inspected it customer service said to be honest if we send you replacement one's it will probably stop at 3 ounces too. It says it could hold up to 5 ounces at a time. So after 30 minutes when it blinks and I press play for it to continue it stops again says its full... It is VERY frustrating I do not recommend it.

Great review. Thank you. What made your decide to get the Elvie over the Willow pump? Was there an automatic factor that made you steer clear of it?
@MoreSereinWu3 жыл бұрын
The Willow has to have these specific bags to seal the milk in, but I also know that you can buy a reusable one. It just seemed more of a hassle at the time. If I have the opportunity to, I'd try the Willow next time.

@@UphoricSkitlez if you have target registry and you add this item to your registry, and then you put the item to your shopping card from your registry, you can use your registry coupon towards this pump :) cause when you open a registry, they give you a coupon after a certain amount of time (for your baby registry items)

Finally such a great review. I purchased the Elvie prior to coming across this video & i regret the purchase. It is so inconvenient to have to bring both chargers to work as well due to the battery life. I as well felt like it took forever to pump & yet still not completely drain each boob. With my spectra s9 it would take me each boob 10mins to completely empty which was great because you need every drop of milk when you breast feed. I agree the app was awful

I wonder the length of pump time has changed. I wonder if it depends on what level you pump at as well. I pump at level 1 first then level 2. I just purchased mine and it lasts all day 2-4 pumps 20min each.

Also, did you try to willow? What did you think of that one?

Have to go back to work and want the convenience of pumping more frequently than the time allotted. I have to go downstairs several floors into the pump room. Do you think that this would help me pump more frequently? Like I could put them on in the bathroom on my floor and sit at my desk? That would allow me more frequent pumping which helps with my supply. Also, can you bottle feed your baby while pumping? I’d use it for those two scenarios.
@MoreSereinWu3 жыл бұрын
I think in your situation this might work as a secondary pump, but try to find one gently used or on sale and replace the parts if you buy it used.

Thank you so much for your review! I’m hesitating to get the Elvie becuz it’s so expensive but yet I’m thinking whether to get it becuz it gives convenience… But I guess the Elvie still needs another traditional pump to complement with if I want to build my supply. Thank u again! Ur review gives me a better consideration in purchasing it!
@MoreSereinWu3 жыл бұрын
You're very welcome Sherry! Personally I think very rarely can you exclusively pump/breastfeed using just the Elvie. This is defiently a secondary pump or one to use once you've establish a good routine with your baby. If you still want the Elvie for work, try looking for a used pump and replacing the parts, much more cost affective and what I'd with I did.
@lexis26603 жыл бұрын
I hate mine because it stops at the 3 ounce mark I should have just gotten the WILLOW and there are no returns and I told the Elvie customer service about my problem they so called troubleshoot it and said just replace the bottle. I'm like no that's unacceptable because I could have bought the WILLOW so I can lay down and pump, because the WILLOW stops at the 3 ounce mark. I'm beyond upset

I know the Spectra gets alot of bad rep bc of flanges and bottles. But when I had my son 3 years ago, I used the freemie cups brand to hook up to the pump. Though it wasn't cordless, it was hands free with a pumping bra. Well I'm expecting my 2nd in three weeks and discovered that spectra created their own cups called caracups that you can put in your bra as well. Again, not cordless, but hands free. I also had the freemie pump that I could clip on my pants. Which sort of had the convenience of Elvie. Hope this helps someone! 😁🧡
