As much as I love music it hasn’t snatched me out of my depression yet... been severely depressed for 4 years now, been that way since I was 8 but my parents think I’m lying about it but they haven’t seen the scars under my sleeves or pants so am I still lying, mom?

Yes same here. Their music, especially the lyrics, really hit home for me. Cried along with Mr JD when he sang his heart out in Daddy. 😢

Thank you for giving us a look in your life and being raw. Being on a platform littered with people trying to seem glamorous. It's nice to see a diffrence and you getting real. It says alot about your character.

I love the fact that you are 22 and you already realize that giving back is so much more satisfying and gratifying than taking. I am a single Dad and I am watching my teenage daughter struggle with many of the things you hope to help other's with. I could use your guidance and your unique perspective. Thank you for what you do. 👏

My passion has shifted over the years, but it also centers around youth and awareness. My healing from childhood trauma was slow, but I always felt like others could find hope within themselves through my story. It took a while for me to get over my shame, but yeah. Dang, that was long. All that to say, "Thank you, Jennea, for normalizing these discussions." ❤

The fact that you have a message, a "mission statement", is so inspiring. It will carry you far. And, it will probably change over time. But, it's so important to have a part of your life that speaks to "purpose." Thank you for these vids! They really help me, even though Im "old."

Just want to let you know this video made my day. Seeing someone who has had their sour taste of life (especially someone my age, to relate to) and is finding the positives, and encouraging others to find the positives in their lives makes me so happy. Keep doing what you are doing, we need more of that in this world. Thanks Jennea. 😊

I agree that "life will never get better" is a lie. I was stuck in abusive situations for 29 years of my life. I used to think that. I am now 38, out of the abuse and married to the most amazing man ever. I still struggle but I feel safe for the first time and I can just stop and breath. It's fantastic. It's the little shit that makes me the most happy! You gotta keep fighting for yourself!!

Jennea your story has inspired me so much. My life hasn't been easy and my teenage years were some of the hardest years I dealt with. I can relate to the addictions with social media and eating. I'm so thankful for having learned your story. You and your father have actually helped me to try and find my peace with God. I will be praying tonight and I will be including you both in my prayers. God Bless! ❤️

DEFTONES! aw I love you man. You're such a good person to talk about mental health and help youth and you seem to have your sh*t together so that you're really in a position to help. Not many people our age are, and I feel like our age group are those that need the most help in being understood and related to and to have tools that help others. Also I love that you have a ferret, I have rats and they're fab you should look into em.

Thanks for answering, people's questions. It does get better over time. My girlfriend, grew up in a foster home. Where she told me, the horror she went through at an early age. She knew her Mom and Father later on. I can relate to having parents both with drinking, and drug problems. Even though they both split when I was 22. It was for the best. I had a bad habit of keeping stuff bottled in. That I had my breaking point at age 34. That almost cost me my life. I have my battle scars from that, and the ones from myself harm. I try to find joy in things too. Reading, music, art, poetry, movies. Sometimes it can be a clusterfudge. I also watched, and enjoyed "Loud Krazy Love". It hit many nerves. I had serious drug, and drinking problem. When I was 25. Hearing your Dad go through the high, and lows of it. Really hit hard. I also did a home detox back in 1999. And again last year off trazodone. I went through some serious withdraws. From lack of sleep, losing touch with everyday life. Hearing stuff that wasn't there. It was a freaking nightmare. I have been off of it for over a year. Trying to find something natural to help with my depression/ bipolar. Anyway. Keep it up, you are doing great.
