This review is so amazing - solves so many problems I have - low light, high iso, sharpness, cropping

I just acquired an R6 and my “leap” is from a 5D IV and I am astounded! The pair will now be the workhorses of my stable but the R6 has immediately become my everyday, go-to, camera. I’m a photographer, rarely bother with video.

Sorry, the music background is still a bit too loud for me. My ears aren’t getting any younger.
@hectorhernandez19833 жыл бұрын
I liked the video, but yes, another old guy here, the music is a bit loud to hear the content. I like my r6 as well. It is so much easier to take good pictures than my old 6d. My son kept telling me to shoot with my old camera. He just bought his own. Thanks

I am continually astounded by the number of people who have made the jump to the R6 from the 80D or 90D (I made the same jump). It’s like the crop sensor DSLRs wet our appetite, and then the R6 came along to seal the deal

I have the R6 mk2 and this answers all your cons. And I do agree 100% with your comments
@ElBoyoElectronico3 жыл бұрын
Yes, you are right! The pictures of the R6 look pretty crispy and I don't understand why so many people seem to think that this is not enough. Who needs to zoom/crop in that far? The things that actually annoy me: Lack of custom video modes, no AV/TV mode, switching between photo and video and weird HDMI behaviour (e.g. with Raveneye or when streaming). Your setup looks very nice and I also enjoyed the music a lot.
@CallumMolloy3 жыл бұрын
People still think that if you have more megapixels, you have better photos. I am quite happily shooting professional work with 20mp! and its plenty to do adjustment crops and even zoom crops in some instances. and I get what you mean about the lack of custom modes. its a little annoying, but not the end of the world, at least in my case as a photographer primarily! but thank you! Appreciate it :)

@@CallumMolloy The only thing you need to tell people who doubt the sensor resolution, is that this is the exact same sensor as used in the flagship Canon 1DX mark III... ;-)
@cjm81603 жыл бұрын
@@trouwfotomakerij The R3, which blows everything else out of the water, is 24MP. 26-30MP might be the “sweet spot” but 20-24MP is enough for anyone who doesn’t crop heavily.

On switching - Ive been told there is a setting in the menu that saves or updates your last settings in the C1 C2 C3 modes in photo. So you can move from C3 to M video on the dial which are right next to each other.

Thanks for your views on the R6. I'm loving mine. BTW, your background music is a little overwhelming. Had to put headphones on the hear what you were saying and still missed some.

I'm waiting to hear from my camera shop to see if I can get my hands on it. Finally switching from my 77D and long doubted between the R5 and R6 but the differences do not justify the extra costs of the R5 (for my needs and prints, 20mpx is enough!). Loved the short review :)
@oo0Spyder0oo3 жыл бұрын
Mate the music, no need for it. Love the camera, best I've ever owned. However if I knew the price of the RF lenses was going to continue to rise and cost up to $1000 or more for the same EF lens, I might have held off longer. They need to address this. I only have one RF lens and just can't see buying any more, will get the EF equivalent and use the adaptor for now.

If there is any weakness.. the battery does annoy me a bit.. My previous cameras all lasted much longer. I'm using the R5.. but they're similar in battery performance.

For wildlife photography, I don't think it's enough. Alot of birds need to be cropped. But for most other niches in photography yeah the r6 is good.
@CallumMolloy3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I agree. If I were to do wildlife I would want the R5, but for my style of travel, portraiture and general "stuff", 20mpx is plenty!

Good overview. May I offer small critique though - the background music is very distracting. Recommend fade to when you start talking.

Bro, what about overheating? If I’m not shooting always 4K 60fps I just need this 10bit 1080 p and sometimes 4K 25fps Right now I have EOS R, but for video R is shit, I mean run and gun is garbage camera. Only studio or interviews and etc What do u think ? Or better to choose other camera for video? I do and video and photos, but with photos EOS R it’s enough, but video quality I hate it.
@VarvorSG3 жыл бұрын
Bit of background: I use Sony a7S3 for our video work and used to use Nikon D4 and Z6 for photography, thus there been quiet a bit of experience terms of performance for low light performance. Recently I switched to Canon for photos with R6. I find that sensor for this camera is quiet exceptional even by full frame standards, I believe major contributing factor as to why it performs very well is it’s one and the same sensor that comes 1DX Mk III (with difference with the past though filter). Thus we getting some very top tier “legacy” tech trickle down into mirrorless space.

I was in between Canon eos R or R6, is it worth to get R6 over R, i shoot weddings stills only no video at all, does it overheat for photos..? Thanks.

Hey Callum - nice video, and I have to say your skin tones look great in your shot. I‘ve stayed away from the R6 (from R) cause so many videos I‘ve seen on KZbin have a yellow cast. Have you seen those kinds of R6 vids and what settings did you use here to get that WB?

I usually just adjust the custom settings in white balance by eye, whatever lighting setup use, I play around with it a bit before recording and see what I like! there's no real settings or presets I use for the videos!

Can u elaborate about the heating issues in detail, how much time do you think it can be used in 20 minute intervals 4k 60fps
@CallumMolloy3 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I haven't found any issues with the overheating just yet. Ive used 4k24 in "hot" British summertime and its not overheated with near constant use so I think its fine. Maybe in hotter or more humid climates it could be an issue, or even at 60fps (which I don't use much). but from my use so far, I haven't had an overheating warning, just a slightly warm feeling to the body. Hope this helps!
