Thee greatest Forest manager ever(and not forgetting his side kick,Peter Taylor, who was good at spotting talent.Garry Birtles for example).AND the greatest England manager we never had.Cloughie should have got the England job after the 1982 World Cup,when Ron Greenwood stepped down. The reason he probably didn’t get it,is because the FA were afraid he’d change that organisation from top to bottom. And he would have done.😉

They broke the mould when Clough was born. I loved going to the City Ground to watch his sides play. I remember his the thumbs up to the crowd, his wit, his love for the club and the people. Legend in his life time; forever within the game and beyond. Even today the FA would still be too scared to give him the England job, the country’s loss was our gain 👍

What he achieved in the time space, and the budget at a fairly unfashionable Club - is the greatest feat in the history of Football…bar none It will never been seen or experienced again! And NEVER be forgotten either I was blessed to be alive and witness it with my own eyes 👍🏼

The word legend is used a lot these days, often when it shouldn't really be, but Brian Clough was indeed a legend at Nottingham Forest, and we were both privilaged and lucky to have him as our manager. He was one of a kind for sure and we all loved him and still love him for it, I do have to say though, that it broke my heart to see what happened to him towards the end of his life, it just goes to show that even the Gods amongst us still have their demons to battle.......Rest in peace Gaffer!

When I was a lot younger I was at the Nottingham Forest School of Excellence (pre-academy days). Even from a young age we were taught the Clough way. I've still got the letter all players received when it was announced he was leaving as manager.

One of a kind , he will never be repeated . A true football genius . Clough won it when money didn't run the game like today , turned a team possibly bound for the 3rd division into div 1 n 2 x European Winners within just a few years nobody could do that or will ever do it again . England biggest loss but forest greatest gain . Forever in our hearts and memories Sir Brain Clough 😢

Was I kid during the miracle years, and just thought it was ‘normal’ to win everything.. feel blessed to have seen him and his teams.. not forgetting the only man who could make him laugh, the late, great Peter Taylor; and at the risk of sounding like an Oscars acceptance speech, Jimmy Gordon deserves a nod too.. 🫡🌳⭐️⭐️
