@@roadrarities Thank you. Does the chain continually run even when the bike is stopped?
@roadrarities
@roadrarities 22 күн бұрын
I hope my translation is understandable ... Clutch in the rear wheel The pre-war Puch 250s, 300s and 500s have the clutch in the rear wheel. It is an internal expansion clutch. This is basically the opposite of how a normal brake works. This means that the jaws are closed when uncoupled And when you disengage the clutch, they open and the chain turns empty. The primary clutch essentially consists of two brake shoes. The secondary clutch consists of approximately six clutch plates. When these slats are pressed over the pressure pin, they are relaxed, i.e. the clutch is relieved When you release the clutch, the clutch plates are compressed A driver - that is a clutch bell - is taken along by approx. 1.5 cm, Which pushes the primary jaws apart and the machine engages.
@douglas9607
@douglas9607 22 күн бұрын
@@roadrarities Good description. So, are there two descreet clutches? My question is, does the rear chain run (even when bike is not moving)? Does the rear chain run continually and the rear 'brake shoe' clutch engage the rear wheel to the engine? That brings to mind an older Volvo I once saw with the transmission not directly bolted to engine but mounted in the rear of the car and the driveshaft was continually rotating even when vehicle was not in motion. Your's is a great piece of history. Thanks. Greetings from Maryland US

too many cuts and pans and waving cameras and not one decent long shot of it actually running... as for technical... vee twin, twin piston... is it a twingle with four pistons and cylinders, or a plain two stroke with two pistons? not one decent shot of the engine its glory, just a nauseating constantly moving frame and panning shots of someone sitting on it grinning inanely then riding in circles with trees in the way and a moving microphone... wheres the clutch as it actuates? ive never seen a clutch in the hub in action... why mention if you dont show clearly? wheres the fuel being sucked into the carb and charger as it sits there being revved with the accompanying hiss of moving air? are we here to see the bike, or are we here to play with silly doodads when filming then spend some more time editing it together in an attempt to make it "appealing" and "catchy"? nice bike. shame about the videography techniques that seemed to overlook that the bike and everything about it should be the center of attention.

Thank you for the very critical and detailed feedback. I appreciate your passion and the in-depth knowledge that comes from your comments. It's obvious that you have a deep interest in motorcycles and their technology, and that deserves respect. First of all, I would like to apologize if the video did not meet your expectations. My goal is to share the enthusiasm and joy of this unique vintage motorcycle. Inspired by your honest criticism, I will use it to improve future videos. Regarding the points raised: Edits and camera movements: My goal is to create dynamic and captivating videos that reflect the passion of the restorer. This has probably come at the expense of clarity. In future videos I will try to include longer, uncut sequences to provide a better overall overview if time allows. Technical Details and Long Shots: You're right - there should have been more detailed shots of the engine and other technical aspects. These are of great importance for enthusiasts like you. The extreme lack of time when recording my clips does not allow me to go into any further technical details at the moment. But that is something I could change in the future if there is enough demand and approval from my viewers. How the clutch and other mechanisms work: Your question about the clutch and fuel delivery is valid. It would have been more informative to show and explain these elements in more detail. But in this regard, too, the time frame for filming doesn't allow me to go into depth - I usually only have about an hour for each video and that's very short. However, I have often wanted to go into more depth and detail. Thank you for your trigger on this and I'm actually already planning to make an explanatory video on how the rear wheel clutch of Puch pre-war models works. Your criticism is valuable and helps me find the balance between entertaining presentation and technical precision. My goal is to create a video that both inspires enthusiasm for these special machines and meets the technical requirements (I will work on this more in the future). Thank you again for your open and honest feedback. I am very excited to see whether I can meet your expectations and requirements with one of my future videos. Stay tuned and continue to give me your critical look at my videos. With my best regards from Austria RoadRarities
