Oh, in France, i do exactly the same job, old machines too but you must have security boots... (no protections for chainsaw etc, gloves? You need gloves, take the ones you should have at home, dude) That's all. And when your muscles, etc are ruined, you wait at home, because you can (5 days contract of interim, renewed each week), to be healthy again to return to work (for the minimum wage, of course).

I am surprised they didn't drive in a wedge or two before they pulled the log out. I also wonder why they didn't finish sawing the log, either with the bandsaw or chainsaw, instead of backing up the log.
