One thing to remember is you don't really have to deal with much in the way of bugs in the type of winters where you would need a 4th season tent. Mosquitoes are all gone, and even ants are rare. Once you're down below 50 degrees Fahrenheit bugs are largely a thing of the past.

This tent is actually a successor of the Onetigris Solo Homestead that I purchased 2 years ago. I didn’t see any different from the previous one except the door frame that is now has became a lot more easier to be installed. I’ve used the previous version during summer and winter and it works great. Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to try it on a rainy day. 😅😅

If you want an inner tent, it is being sold separately. The product called Mesh Inner Tent and it’s only for one person. So I agree if this tent is a biker tent because you’ll sleep inside the mesh inner tent beside your bike inside the tent.

In the Army we called that a Baker Tent. An old design of a tall A frame standard canvas tent, but the side(s) lift up to provide a sun and rain fly. Usually this was some form of service provision tent. A medic station, a supply rack, a mess station on manauevers to draw from. I think it goes back centuries in the British Army.

This looks basically like a more waterproofed solo homestead in black. It’s the same dimensions and sets up the same. I don’t love the no inner, being that in GA we have mild winters. But, this would be perfect for cot camping which is what I’m looking for. Can’t wait for the test night to see how waterproof!

Instructions are on a tag sewn into the zipper of the bag, at least they are on my solo homestead. There’s a handful of inner mesh tents designed to be used with their bottomless tents. I have the inner mesh 01* and the solo homestead groundsheet, haven’t had a chance to put it through a real soaker yet though. Good first look though!

I have the one Tigris solo homestead tc which is basically the same tent but the material is polycotton, comes with a canvas ground sheet. There is also stove jack. One Tigris have an inner for this tent with bathtub floor and good fine mesh. Instructions for setup were sewn in to the canvas carry bag with mine. First time setting up was different but once you have done it once it goes up really quick. If you are not bothered about weight I would go for the canvas homestead version as canvas has so many more advantages over the lighter weight fabrics. Thanks for the initial review

Supposed to come with a detachable floor on website specs. I like that idea, when using cots and chairs inside. You say "vestibule", it is more of an "awning," and you want to use one awning positioned away from the wind direction. Website also refers to it as a "porch" set up. Looking forward to your next test review on it in the rain. Three season use for me, not summer, too hot.

One modification would be using a UV resin probably luminous possibly in two different colours or combination of lines dots. To indicate exactly what sections of poles go together. Certainly an unusual design, with its own quirks and situations that make it a viable option. Possibly good for use in conjunction with a quad bike , 4X4 or pickup.

It´s interesting to see this tent and I´m thinking about buying it. Not for use as a regular tent but for fishing. It might seem strange but in Germany it´s forbidden to just go out and sleep outside in a tent, you could end up with a pretty high fine. A tent is any structure that has a roof AND a bottom. This only has a roof so it´s not considered a tent by German law, it´s just "wheather protection" which means I can set it up anywhere even in cities and fish for more than just a day. And it´s way smaller than the usual stuff that´s used around here.

Onetigris seems to be a bit odd about poles. I've got a "Tigersden" baker style, and it needed two little poles for the back vent. Not a huge deal, just made some out of sections of fiberglass rod. I remember seeing reviews where people were less than amused about the two little poles not being included.

I own both the OneTigris Solo Homestead and Solo Homestead TC hot tent (same tent but in canvas and with a stove-jack)This appears to be the same tent as the Solo Homestead just in a different color. There might be another difference but I’m not seeing it. I have not used the solo Homestead yet, only the solo Homestead TC with stove jack. I have now used the TC version for two weekends in an area where it was cold enough that I needed to use my small wood stove at night. The first weekend my son, and I found that. while using The TC with a small wood stove, the tent truly is only big enough for one person plus gear and a dog but a second person with the stove inside the tent is just not realistic. As far as the tent without using a woodstove, it is absolutely big enough for two people on cots plus gear, maybe even a dog. I absolutely love this tent style after using it for two weekends in a row. I like being able to (at 6’1” tall) I can set up a regular camp chair and have plenty of head room. I have not had to set the tent I in the wind though. The wind did kick up to just over 20mph gusts one night and the tent held sturdy. Everything was staked down and guidelines were set and I had zero problems. I’m excited to see more of your findings with this.

Electrical tape of different colors takes care of color coding the poles, or shrink tubing sounds better. M'be some model paint to match the pole colorings for the pole clips? Looks like you could make up a ridge line inside between the two tall poles, to hang wet gear, to hang a privacy screen, to support a bug net, many uses. Depending how it does in the waterproof testing, I like this one best of all three. Nice to have a dry place to site if you're limited by the size of your tarp, or in a place lacking trees to hang a tarp. I kind of like it, bigger tents give me the fizz more than tiny ones do... but then I'm 63 and not a little guy. Old men like comfort.

The Tent Shape reminds me of a Coleman Tent which I owned in 1982 or thereabouts. One Trip with Snow and the Poles could not withstand 2 inches and they all snapped and collasped the tent... So I got my money back.... I do need a 2 Person Winter Tent...

I bought the Cometa, but was really tempted by the Nebula until I realized it only had a ground sheet and not a traditional floor. Looking at just how large it is now I probably could have been happy with the Nebula with some cots, but my concerns about possible bugs on the warm days / cold nights trips and also wind/water blowing in from beneath are what kept me out of the Nebula. The Cometa though... well I'm curious how that thing is going to handle condensation. I'll find out soon enough

I can see the value in this tent as a base for being up in the mountains for a few days in any season. It’s clearly not a hiking tent but with room for a couple of camp beds etc inside it would be perfect. I would definitely add a groundsheet for the inside and a second set of door poles for summer use. As it can comfortably fit two people you could split the weight between you until you reach where you want to set up your base.

It looks like they were aiming for motorcycle riders with this one. Luke already expressed that and as a rider there is some market for easy tents to carry on your rig. This one seems to be aiming for a lot more reasons you can use it than just one however. With no floor you can use it as an ice fishing tent. With all the guy line points you can try to use it in heavy winter (maybe). With the large door mesh you can use it for car camping as a small kitchen or eating area. Really, they seem to have spread thin so much that it is hard to pinpoint what this tent was really made for.

Good review as usual, but you said in the beginning of your review what this tent (tarp) is , you were right on the money. I have the tent , but I purchased it in mind of motorcycle camping (yes) a tarp would have worked just fine, but how I used the tent is cot inside, chair and table inside. The mesh is ok for insects, I love the tent tarp , l have used the tent several times , ( 9 pm to 9 am ) DO NOT USED AFTER OR BEFORE THESE HOURS IN THE SUMMER) you will cook, have not experienced any rain storms. I have a smaller version of this tent by another company , ( DD HAM****K ) tent tarp, I knew what I was getting into . You did a fantastic job on the tent and a 100% true, only 1 con $$$.$$ but you get what you pay for 4.5 stars You gave me an idea, when I’m out again see can I get my Harley Street Glide inside LOL

I will be looking for a tent for motorcycle camping soon and... this is not it, unfortunately. The difficulty in setup and teardown makes it a no-go for me, plus there is the issue with the openings being on the wrong two sides. That'd make it difficult to get anything other than maybe a dirt bike in and out of there. I'm still gravitating more towards a tube type tent at the moment. One of those that packs down to about the size of a small spare tire, but even one of those might not be the best idea. Keep the good ideas coming, Luke. Great vids, as always. Thanks!

For me, there are 2 major flaws with this tent. First, I don't like the color. It doesn't match my fingernails. Then there's the thing with all the poles. I don't like poles. Better would be to include several helium filled baloons that could be connected to the outside to hold it up. It would make the tent a lot lighter too. As far as portability, this could easily be used for backpacking with the use of a drone to fly it to your location each night. Not sure if you missed that point.

I like floorless tents myself if using a cot. Cots are hard on these bathtub floor tents...thus they recommend air mats. This appears to be a modern tent modified old army tent, especially with the two upright poles with through spikes and their finials (ball caps). However I have a 7x9ft canvas tent for those adventures that I've owned 27 years. I think without the poles mine is about 13lbs and much easier to erect.

If this came in a light color, same price as the black, it would be a perfect beach picnic/relaxing tent. I am not going to pay 600 dollars for a camo beach shelter, though. At the beach, you don't really need a floor because sand gets in no matter what you do, and there are not so many bugs, so the mesh it has is enough. Air flow seems good. My dog and I could spend all day in there, with a chair, table, his crate if he wants to feel safe, something to lay on - beach towel or I have a cot (which could be a combo chair-table). I take the car to my local beaches so don't need to worry about weight. But black? No thank you. One Tigris, please make a green or light colored one. Don't need camo at the beach.

Think this is more of a cot tent for me, and I would buy a inner bug mesh if I was to use in other seasons beside winter.

I guess you could get a tent inside of it and use it as a bit of extra coverage from the elements...if you want to go overkill....or as a separate shaded area at camp?

Reminds me of my grandma's old coleman tent. It had three sets of poles to hold it up and several stake out points but not one point for a guide line other than what you may attach to a pole. It was a huge tent and not easy to set up. It was however a quality tent and I remember everybody borrowed it and used, it lasted for over 20 years before the zipper broke and some holes eventually developed throughout. For me, this Nebula tent wouod be a good over landing tent. That's the only time I bring the cot and some cots even have big net attachments. I'm curious if One Tigris plans to offer an inner seperatley for this tent like a smaller screen tent that uses the internal poles to set up inside 🤷. Imo, they should at least offer this and another model that has an inner or a floor at least, but in all honesty, I like the other models a little bit more.

Keeping your tent poles sorted? There is this handy stuff called tape. You can get it in different colors. So, you could put different colors on each of the groupings of poles. Or, you could use your handy dandy label maker to make coded labels for the groups of poles. Oh, and like Luke said, when you break down a pole, even with the labels, put them in their own bags ..... make sure to label the bags too. 🤭

My 2 cents: As someone who loves setting up their tent at night, this tent looks extremely complicated. From (like you said) the un-color coded poles, to the amount of poles. That is a lot of poles for a 2 person tent. There are 8 poles in this tent (1:14) That's insane to me. I have a Coleman tent with a screen porch front and it only uses 3 poles and they are color coded. For a tent that you rate for 2 people, its way to big. like you point out (3:47). I love rustic camping and the bigger the tent, the harder to find good ground. That and the bigger it is, the harder it is to set up. A big turn off for me is the door. As shown at 5:20, if i want the door to be open, I have to get 2 additional poles and stakes to keep it open. This feels like an obstacle. Instead of maybe zipping open and close a door, I have to get out, take the stakes out, take the poles down AND (like you said earlier to prevent later confusion) put the poles away from getting mixed up. Such a hassle. I am someone who loves rustic camping, but I am not a fan when bugs want to snuggle up with me in my tent. Though not having a floor isnt an issue with m any people, I feel that for the price, you are paying more for less. Comparing it to my tent (which is about 40 bucks less), i get a floor, a screen room and instructions xd. Not having instructions to me feel like they're cutting corners to save. One of the my biggest key traits in looking for a tent is how well it can keep things like bugs and rain out. Like you mentioned earlier, the tent has unique, vertical poles. This gives it a weird shape. I am curious how the tent will compete in the rain. I don't know about you but having air flow/ventelation during the humidity is very important. So I don't see you getting any ventilation during the rain without opening the inward facing windows to soak you. I look forward to the rain test soon to come. Lastly, the color. Black is such a unusual color for a tent. Mostly bc the sun. You'll be baking in here. I will say, the tent seems to have excellent air flow with the doors. But at that point, it seems more like a shaded area than a tent. I would NOT buy this tent for these reasons. That is my 2 cents.

interestingly the linked webpage mentions this as a tent, yet in the description says a shelter NEBULA Camping Tent SKU CE-BHS11 Black Tigris Series Backpacking Shelter| 1-person or 2-person Outdoor Tent | 3000mm Waterproof Rating and not to be used in harsh weather conditions ● For longer shelf life, air out to dry after use in drizzle, and store the tent in a cool, dry place. Do not use in extreme weather conditions and environments.

This reminds me of an older NatureHike set up. They have since updated it to be a cabin type inner with almost that same identical shape. In the older NatureHike version they also had no floor and it came with that same groundsheet you have there to put in it if you wanted it, but the NatureHike version also had an optional stove jack in the roof, which is why they kept the inner optional.

Based on what I see, perhaps it's just camera angles, but it looks to me like it's not very rain shed-y. Seems as if rain would puddle on the top. No floor either, I prefer floors in tents.

Luke on the website it says it comes with a detachable floor. Maybe you should contact the company and let them know that you didn’t get one with your purchase. I have enjoyed you and Susie for a while. I don’t usually comment.
