FYI for someone who has taken Krav Maga and if you want to get into it, but if you're coming from an abusive relationship to learn it. A lot of triggers are going to happen since KM is a very physical brutal training(REAL TRAINING, not the pop fit trendy type of training). You will be grabbed, held down, 5 vs1, put through so many scenarios to desensitize your fear, getting hit and put into situations that seems impossible to get out of. Krav is "dirty" fighting and run, it's basically defensive fighting and get out of there. I think the most memorable scenario training I did was when 5 people piled on top of me and I had to fight my way out of that pile. Sometimes recovery would take days for me to get back to training the following week.

There have always been movies about hurting bad men, think like hmm every movie ever. Even series, Dexter, Mr. Robot. It's not an issue until women do it. When men kill/ hurt bad men they're good guys, when women do it it's apart of some "scheme against men". If you take it personally that women want to hurt bad men then I'm really wondering what kind of man you are.

That's the book we used at my Krav Maga gym. It's called Krav Maga World Wide by Darren Lavine, and not appreciated by Israeli instructors. Reason being, they face threat of death/grievous bodily harm every day. Therefore, they teach a version closer to the heart of what Imi was creating for the Israeli forces. When the manual was first printed our crime rate wasn't nearly what it is today. Darren was an original student of Imi, so the manual is still the techniques passed on from the creator of the system. Hope she was actually taught Krav Maga for the film. I want to see this film, and, I love Krav Maga.

I love these movies. Brings memories of being a bully victim in early to middle school years. I joined a self defense club. Stamped out bullying in my school for 3 years. I set up a spy ring that would come and inform me of any bullying going on. Then I would deal with the bully catching him in the act. Informing him I have spies everywhere. Inside and outside of school. The teachers had no clue. They probably thought everyone is a potential snitch here. Not knowing who, as nobody would admit to it. The good thing is the spy ring would not allow him to be bullied either.

wrong. deep inside she wants to be with that "abuser". she wants to lose to him. she wants to be brought over a knee and tamed. this whole "strong and indipendent" circus is just her raising her value. meaning, if she's stronger than most men, then only the strongest man will have her. that's why she's powerless against her "mating partner". she wants to be.

Consider watching the movie. There's a distance when victims of trauma deal with other people's issues, they have the outside looking in pov that make them stronger. But when It's their own situation, They can be powerless, especially in this film where her husband beat, groomed her into submission. She never really faced it nor came to terms, is on the run while veing a vigilante. That's why She takes on other victims'plight. Her vigilanteness is a way to avoid her own trauma, and replay It as in a way where She takes actions, when in reality She never did when It came with al to her own story..

What people with knowledge of statistics know- fights can and on most cases are accidentally causing death. What people after watching this trailer know for fact- women will be empowered and encouraged to do physical fights with their spouses and the statistic of dead married women(or also men because women sometimes use knifes and stuff) would increase.

Cliche movie.. It'd be cool if there was a twist lol.. Like, she fights her husband by using the book she found on her shelf. LOL but then her husband beats the crap out of her and whispers "Who do you think wrote that book... ya big dummy" cause he was actually the author lol. Then she just goes out and buys a shotgun and goes "Bet you didn't write a book about shotguns!" Then just blasts him hahahahah

I would suspend my disbelief a little bit more if the lady in question was a _big_ muscly lady. Olivia Wilde, god love her, she might have the heart of a lion, but she has the bone structure and weight of a sparrow. I don't care if you make "women fight back" movies - more power to you, but why are they always pretty little things and not some beast woman that could legitimately break some bones?

It's a shame that in the years since this film, Wilde seems to have become the kind of abusive manipulative scum her character wanted to push back against. Hollywood eats one more soul, I suppose.
