Great job. Pay no attention to the negative comments. Those people dont accomplish anything so they try to drag the ones that do down. Its awesome that you take the time to bring these instruments back to life. Most would write them off as trash. Especially since they arent the most valuable. I like the "lawsuit" basses and the older import basses. A knockoff Fender is often not much different than a real Fender. Anyone that doesnt know that hasnt played enough.
@GilaMonster971 Жыл бұрын
Most people don’t even know they are playing a knock off (if it’s decent) until they look at the headstock stamp. If a knock off is setup well they can play nicely.

@@brianmorrison4865good catch. My bad. I probably should have caught that on the thumbnail, the F in Fender is very similar if not identical, the to the T in Tokai. And having just rechecked, I can see where the k would have been. It’s far too close to the “F” or in this case “T”. There is not enough space for an “en” and it’s clearly a “Tok” that I can see the outline of under the tiny black fender name. Again, good catch. Thanks for letting me know.

@@panzerlieb Some of these were better than Fenders. I once went into a junk shop Yamanashi in Japan and saw an old SG hanging up on the wall for sale. It was a Tokai, but not the usual cheap copy. I noticed that this SG had the original style (two screw) truss rod cover, and, upon closer inspection, a set neck, and fret-edge binding like a Gibson SG Standard. I paid the shop the 20,000 yen (about $200 at the time) they wanted for the guitar. Inside I found Tokai PAF pickups, and Gibson style pickup switch. I still have this guitar today. I have a Navigart Esparto Strat which dates from about the same time as the Tokai bass in the video, and it is a better guitar than some of my USA-made Fenders.
