Magnolia Mall is an overlooked mall off of I-95 and 20 in Florence SC. There may be better malls, but this one is getting along just fine.

Another great video! I would say that one of the “cracks” I’ve seen evidence of in a few Preit Malls that I’ve seen videos of: lights out. It’s never a good sign when maintenance is cut, on things that are visible.

Ahh the memories working in that mall! I ran the RadioShack locations there - first go was when it was on the Sears wing in a space where that Shoe Dept Encore expanded into. Next go around was opening the new location in what is now the Journeys location.

Most indoor malls in America are in hospice care or their success has been lackluster for a while. Even though this mall probably isn't a superstar, it seems to be doing fine based on 21st century standards. As long as Florence and its surrounding area doesn't lose a lot of residents and crime rate doesn't rise, I think it will pass the test of time.

The mall looks like it’s doing pretty good for now. I see stores there I haven’t heard about in a long time like Carters. The Citadel Mall by Charleston, SC is dead and usually overlooked. If you ever want to make a trip down that way.

Doomie has done the Citadel and there is really no reason to do it again. The mall is unfortunately boring… beyond boring… but as you and I both know, while it’s dead.. it’s not really dead and not going anywhere because of MUSC, Target, Belk and Dillards. It’s one of the few “dead not dead” malls in the country. Oh, also the filming of the Righteous Gemstones starts again. The mall will eventually get redeveloped to a mixed use property, but not for now…

Come to the Citadel Mall in Charleston SC as a Charlestonian I will say that the mall is thriving

Magnolia Mall seems to be doing very well for a town the size of Florence. I believe its location at the meeting of two major interstates has a lot to do with its continued success. Very odd to see tenants like H&M, Lovisa, and Yankee Candle in a mall this small, yet JCPenney pulled up stakes. You'd think JCP would still be here and that Dillard's would be present also. Anyway, replacing JCP with Tilt Studio was a really cool idea! I'd love to visit one someday. Maybe they'll come somewhere in Georgia. The food court here really stands out though! The mall really played up on the "deep old South" look there.

I was in Magnolia Mall in 2009 standing in front of Belk when news broke that Michael Jackson died. I remember seeing people crying and it’s what everyone was talking about. Pretty wild

Florence gets a lot of haters. Yea, it’s kinda run down and high crime, but Buc-ees opened there because of the location on 95 and it being the turn many people from the north take to get to Myrtle beach. With Florence being on 95, the town is going to benefit in the next 20 years from MANY northern people continuing to move south that cannot afford the good parts of Charleston, Greenville, Rock Hill or Columbia. Properties up and down 95 are getting purchased by major developers and they’re not just going to sit on these properties. (Feel free to research recent purchases in Santee and Elloree) Lots of opportunities in Florence and other towns up and down the corridor!

I'm positive that I have seen the architecture of this mall with the green Magnolia Mall sign at least once.😊 Now I guess I'm half familiar with this mall.😊It's also good to hear that this place is doing well. Not a bad mall. I like it.

Amazingly there are some strong national tenants in the mall.. the vacancies don’t seem to overshadow it and to fill the anchors is good.. btw, the width of that H&M ! It looks enormous… they usually only want 20-25,000 sq ft but this one looks bigger .. was there any depth to the unit ? Always look forward to my mall walk with you on a Friday eve here in the U.K.😊

I would say that the high water mark for malls in America was 1984. Not necessarily in terms of the number of active malls, but in health and vitality and in terms of the least amount of vacancies in malls. If you were a mall store like Spencers and you couldn’t make it in 1984 then there was no other time in mall history you could make it.

I’ve been to this mall before! It’s pretty decent! If you’re in the area you should stop by the Myrtle Beach mall because that’s truly a dead mall and I’m pretty sure it’s only winning factor is the bass pro shop connected to it.
