1. A sort of fender would help reduce the hay dropping on that tire, and 2, if those wheel bolts stick thru the flange very far when the wheel is bolted on, they will act like fingers, grabbing hay and winding it around that axle shaft. So make sure the bolts are only long enough to go into the flange, not thru it or just barely. I'm glad you got the machine back in service and that neither of you got injured working on it. Farmer Dave

I was thinking the same thing. A two piece, easily removable shield that basically touches the wheel., maybe even a rubber seal on it. But with the age of the machine don’t know if it’d be worth it

Greetings from Germany, close to Luxembourg in the Eifel Mountains.. We are having Horses (and two dogs) to care for and we are making Firewood to heat up the house in cold seasons. We own and use two tractors, one 60yrs old IHC Mc Cormick D-439 (German build) and one 30 yrs old Zetor 7245 (Czech manufacturer) to work with several machines. Nothing real big, but we love it living in the country Nice to see how things work in Maine. Have a good time and fun! 😎

Melroe bobcat had some what the same issue do things wrapping around the axles on bobcats. What we did was to cut a piece of 3” PVC pipe to fit from the frame to the wheel hub then cut that piece in half and install it over the frame and secure it with two large hose clamps. This helped keep the seal from damage and usually easier to clean.

Hi Taylor. Thanks for letting us visit your home and for meeting your two beautiful dogs. They were sure glad to see you. We burn wood too to heat our house. In fact I am sitting in front of my wood burning stove and watching your awesome video. I am sure Brent appreciates the fact that you can fit into those tight spaces so that he can get his repairs done. When you take us along for your rides it’s great to see all of that beautiful scenery so if you see a new house being built close to you don’t worry it’s just me moving to Maine. Keep that positive attitude of yours and keep farming. 🐄🚜🌽😉

Wow. An old-school lug wrench. Hard to believe that cars used to come with one of those. (I had a couple, now long since gone.) The next iteration was the almost useless thing that looked like a crowbar with a socket stamped on the curvy end. I finally settled for a 3/4" breaker bar, extension and an appropriately-sized socket. Oh, and a big screwdriver to pry off the hub caps, but hub caps seem to have disappeared as a wheel ornaments over the years too. That said, I haven't had to change a tire in years. Just slow leaks where I fired up the compressor, filled the tire, and drove to the tire shop. There's a spare tire in or around the car somewhere that I'd have to look for if it was needed. . .

TIM from Canada, you need to take it outside on a nice day and pressure wash it do this in the morning after you have used it, wash it down leave it in the sun then at night time when you’re ready to use it, it is clean and ready to go.. if you have a small piece of rubber, you can cut a strip that is the same length and width as the inside of your track this way it will not bind up or take a piece of plastic wrap it around and use tape or something just to keep it out.. another thing piece of plexiglass cut it the width of the top rail this way you can put it on drill some holes use ties to keep it secure….. small piece of board would work just runs some tape around it. Lots of things you can do if you have the right piece of plastic or would that would fit on top of your rail?

Taylor, I think you are right about you Kubota seat problem, especially with the ripped seat cover. I bet that foam is like sitting on a wet sponge. If you need the tractor when it is going to be cold I would set a concrete block or something heavy on the seat so the switch freezes in the right position and the tractor will work. Take care

It is not a seat sensor or any other sensor in my opinion; otherwise you would not be able to start the tractor. Maybe not getting enough fuel. Might be a carb adjustment. Unless you have a tire changer, I would advise taking the tires to a tire center and have them change them. I like your wreath. Why not keep it up until it gets ugly.
