A visit to the Pavilion Gardens Miniature Railway - Episode 19 of Miniature Railway.
In this episode we visit the Pavilion Gardens Miniature Railway in Buxton. We also explore this beautiful Derbyshire town know as "Bath of the North".
We start at Buxton Railway Station, have a look at the site where Peak Rail was originally based, a model railway in the ticket office and of course the famous fan window.
Following a coffee at Waitrose we visit the Devonshire Hospital, which is now part of Derby University. We then see the Royal Crescent, the opera house and the pavilion gardens before a trip on the railway.
At the Pavilion Gardens Miniature Railway we see and take a ride behind Alan Keef sham steam locomotive No. 2000 Edward Milner.

Buxton station is a fascinating place even without the diesel depot. The large window at the end of the line reminds me of the front of a B36 aeroplane. An excellent railway around the gardens. I went there many times to collectors meets and record fairs.

Henry, the model is of the other Buxton station of course, we use to use it to do a circular trip down to Millers Dale by a single car-railcar and back to Manchester Central.
