Really enjoyed the trip, and Glossop is a wonderful town I spent time in as a teenager. Cheers for the trip, certainly better than Sunday night television.

Glad to hear you enjoyed watching! :) This was my first visit to Glossop, next time I'll go by train to do the line as I've not done that or Hadfield yet.

As a local I enjoyed trip on the railway again, thank you. What is now Manor Park used to be the grounds of Glossop Hall very little of which remains. There is evidence of stone work alongside one of the higher level footpaths.

You're welcome! Thank you for the info on Glossop Hall, I'll have a look next time I'm in Glossop.

Really enjoyed this. The insight into the track was interesting. I was wondering how the points worked until you pointed that out. 👍 also very glad to see that the first trains driver was taking health and safety seriously, his hi-viz underwear is definitely necessary when running a light engine backwards! 🤣😆 keep em coming 😁👍👊

Some years ago i had the pleasure of visiting manor park railway with the Wakefield thornes park railway engineering society and drove a Britannia steam loco round the railway for most of the day. Adrian was who runs the railway was or still is the chairman of the thornes park railway.

The Britannia must have looked great at Manor Park. I'd love to visit Thornes Park Miniature Railway when things get back to normal!

Henrys Adventures I never used to be a fan of Miniature Railways, my family and I saw them as being for kids, but now you have changed my mind and opened up my eyes to how nice and wonderful those little Railways can be for adults too. Never overlook a little engine, eh? Thanks a lot Mate. Thanks to you, I am planning to visit more miniature Railways once this whole Corona nightmare is over.

@@josephmarrison4606 I'm glad you're thinking along the same lines as me. I sometimes see adults sending their children off on the train and not riding themselves which I think is a real same and the adults don't really know what they're missing. I hope things get back to normal soon and we can all ride some miniature (and larger) railways again.

Henrys Adventures Same. The Nene Valley could be facing closure at this rate from what I have heard from a friend on Facebook. I hope it doesn’t. I love that Railway.

Back in the 1970's they had a Steam Loco 0-6-0,but when they sold the line to another private owner, the Steam Loco was not part of the deal shame really as it was a crowd puller in the summer...

I agree that would have been great to see! Maybe in future we'll see steam at Manor Park again?

I was brought up in Glossop but left around 1963. There was no miniature railway then, so when did it start?
