Hear me out. I was born in Portugal in 1984. I have no musical training, I have no religious education, I have no hard family education binding me to anything in particular. That being said, I developed a resonance and love to classical music, some form of love for it and identity for it in particular, that I cannot explain. This performance resonates with me on so many levels... I don't know exactly why, where, by whom musical performances are brought into existence for in general - for me, if they touch me, it's because of their passion, dedication, discipline in training and love in general for human life, experience, etc., they convey in their performance... I am blessed, in 2020, to exist in an era that so many beautiful performances are so easily shared on KZbin and other platforms. That you for this beautiful performance and for all the hard work that each musician no doubt had to live through to make it happen! I cannot imagine what all your hard work has bee but I can tell you that all that paid off in my experience listening to it and how that it made me feel so much....... HUMANITY!. So, again, thank you so much and keep it up!

Along with my sister Julie Wittes Schlack, I was in a choir that performed this piece at a socialist summer camp called Shaker Village ~ 1966, near Pittsfield, MA USA. I loved it then and love it now. The tempo of the first movement is much faster than we had sung it, which took me a bit off-guard. I love the baroque instruments in this recording.

@@descartesdonkey4291 Now that is passion for music :-) I enjoyed every moment and nuance of the performance it is unparalleled in my estimation, I have watched it six or seven times, there is no beating Vivaldi, I love baroque music, but to me, in the final analysis to really appreciate any piece of music it is with eyes closed to shut out all other stimuli. All the soloist were impeccable, especially the soprano will the black and white dress, so beautiful and expressive I could have watched and listened to her all day. Am I still a selfish "bastard" :-) ? I forgot the countertenor, he was equally impassioned.

Please, don't let the few opening bars of the fanfare put you off (for their speed). Before you know it, you'll forget the "speed" and will be enchanted by the performance. Now, if you feel distracted by the energetic conductor, you're not listening to the music: Stop, get a glass of something cold, drink it, and come back. This performance is spirited, pulsating, crisp, warm, and heartfelt . The cooperation among the Estonian conductor, choir, & two soloists and the Israeli Baroque Collective [orchestra] and two soloists & crew is harmonious and satisfying. I single out for special mention the smiling soprano, Tal Ganor, whose voice & smile are glorious; and the tenor (actually, I believe, lyric tenor ), whose timbre is exquisite, in my opinion.

Debe de llamarse Tal Ganor, habida cuenta que la otra soprano, después del dueto, vuelve al coro estonio, esta última debe de llamarse Jaanike Kuusik.

A few technical additions: The outstanding Soprano in the"Domine Deus" movement (about 13:19) is Tal Ganor (an Israeli opera singer). The blond man with the goatee who sang the "Miserere Nobis" (about 19:32) is not a mere tenor, but a Lyrical Tenor. He's identified above as "Indrek Jurtsenko," but this is apparently an incorrect spelling of his name --It cannot be found on Google. The soloist who sang the "Qui Sedes" (25:18) is the Israeli David Tal who is a Counter Tenor, not an Alto. Other than that, it was a beautiful, moving, and heartfelt performance by the two ensembles (players & choir). This was not the "breathless" type, but rather the gently pulsating one which is far more pleasant (to my ears). A truly outstanding choice of soloists, choir, conductor, and orchestral ensemble. Thanks so much for uploading.
