A Walk Around EYNSFORD VILLAGE | Kent

After my visit to Eynsford Castle, I take the opportunity for a quick stroll around the Village itself. There are many old Buildings including the 16th Century ‘Plough Inn’ and the Church is dedicated to St Martin. In about 1163, Thomas Becket is reputed to have excommunicated William de Eynsford, the owner of Eynsford Castle but this was overturned by King Henry II.

Yes Marq you pronounced it correctly there is also a nice walk to Lullingstone country park walking up the road alongside the river

Everyone was telling me I was pronouncing it wrong because people like to do that. Thank you. I didn't have time to do Lullingstone unfortunately but will go back as not too far from me.

Nice village , dowsing was actually taught to us at agricultural collage and we used it to find buried clay tile drainage system in soccer field - it really worked ! 😁

It's pronounced AINSFORD. Well that's what I learnt as a child coming from near there in Kent.

I’m from Kent too and we used to come here on days out. I always heard it pronounced Ainsford. This was back in the 50s / 60s so maybe things have changed. Great video bringing back memories.
