I was born in 7 Sandy Park Road 77 years ago, I've been away too long. Went to Wick Road infants. Delivered newspapers for Sampson's the newsagents. Video brought back so many memories. Still love the area.

I seem to remember the shop front of “corner news” had marbles or glass balls set into its woodwork until the 1980s

In all honesty, what hasn't changed beyond all recognition these days, eh Pete? You're of a similar age to me mate, and this video started in my old stomping ground of Brislington. I vividly recall Hiscocks (where I first encountered Dandelion & Burdock as a refreshment). Corner shops were literally on just about every street corner of Brislington back in the day. Happy childhood memories of the place but Sandy Park (like Brislington Village) is looking very shabby today! 👍
