Thanks for the video. I have gone back to Minnesota and Nebraska where we lived on farms and in small towns. It is difficult to see that some things have disappeared and some things have changed so much. It is not easy to see that, but it is good for the soul to remember the good times and the struggles and how we were family.

I grew up in Crawford Village. When I drove by my old building, I could see how they changed the doors and windows. The units now look like prison cells. It was a place where every unit looked like individual little homes. Now, every unit looks the same. Empty. Your old neighborhood looks like a bombed out war zone. My grandmother lived on Lincoln St. Where there were once houses, the whole street is now just big empty lots. It's hard to see your neighborhood and town go from vibrant to empty and abandoned.

That little tape might have come from an answering machine. It might even still work if you found a little tape recorder to put it in. It’s a micro cassette. Wow! That is so sad to come back and find a former home in that condition.

Thanks for sharing Shaun! People need to keep seeing places like McKeesport in the condition of today. I have family members that tell me of the amazing history of the town and how everyone had jobs and there was no messing around because people knew each other. How is Crawford village doing? I assume not good, but maybe I’m wrong… hopefully. I remember when I would drive past Echostar on Lyle and then they shut down. It was employing a lot of people in town and then gone…

Tarpaper siding! Haven't seen that in decades. It's a wonder the house has stood this long. I grieve for your sorrows and share your joys. Revisiting the past is a hard thing to do. Blessings on your journey in life.

Oh, these house in western pa were all built with quality and craftsmanship. This home was built back when people all had good factory jobs. Houses today could never last as long as these homes in Pittsburgh.

This was very cool to see but very sad as an uber lyft driver in Pittsburgh and suburbs and being female (sorry i stay far away from McKeesport if possible) i had 2 rides a drop off n pick up there in the first month i started driving n it was dark out but i realized i dropped this young man off at a place there were nothing but abandoned houses but apparently there was a house that wasnt abandoned smack between them. And that's where he went def made me feel uneasy and then the gps for whatever reason is wonky there. N im the literally 30th person ive heard it from after talking to passengers i ask the women especially where i should avoid going to McKeesport is always first followed by clairton...its very sad what the town has went to. Very sad. Ugh i absolutely hate seeing the suburbs of Pittsburgh struggle like McKeesport braddock is another place u can clearly see was once a beautiful place with big buildings that were once thriving... and unfortunately no longer. To me its so so sad they r putting so much money into the main city and closest suburbs raising cost of living so once again ppl r forced out of the city to the burbs and no one is caring about what the burbs have become. With a tiny tlc it would make a huge difference. Its so sad. I live 40 mins north of Pittsburgh in a tiny town that i hate. Would love to be closer to the city but when u see what rhe burbs r to the city makes me a little cautious n scared cuz itw only w matter of time other places start to degrade. Sorry i said a lot. But i do very much appreciate ur video and the work u did. It sucks very much. Unfortunately the town im from kittanning i graduated from McKeesport was the worst team we played in sports at least as a female athlete i rem the girls soccer team had to forfeit after 2 many girls got carded out for numerous reasons spitting on girls etc it was a tough town for many many yrs i graduated 2003 this was late 90s early 2000s. So bacj 24. Plus yrs ago this town was agressive lol. Anyway basically meant to just share with u guys who created the video much love n look forward 2 new content.

Thanks for appreciating my videos!! and i wish i had a team! its all me with my daughter featuring in this video... and yes i agree with ya.. its very sad to see the way that part of town go down as i used to live in that house featured in this video....We are about the same age and i also hung out in kittaning in the 2000s as i was from new kensington pa. and yes i know what you mean when i was an uber driver too.. Again thanks for watching... ill keep doing what i love to do... Filming!
