Such a shame to see that Halesowen is no longer cared for - even English Heritage have seen to given in to allowing the landowner to neglect the site.

I know right it's shocked me that Halesowen abbey isn't in a very good condition

I've never been over to woodgate Valley country park but drove past it enough times but watching this footage has gave me inspiration to cycle through it👍 another good walk to film is the old harbourne railway walk that starts in Edgbaston and takes you right down where the old harbourne train station use to be 👍

I often cycle to Woodgate Valley from Selly Oak. It's nice to see you enjoying the local area, not many people would bother preferring the hills of Shropshire or Wales. If you get the chance to walk the Selly Oak end there is much of the canal line still intact from the Eastern end of the Lapal tunnel. You would go past Weoley Castle ruins too. The new winding hole is currently being dug out by the big Sainsbury's. Another route I can suggest is the North Worcestershire Path. A few years ago I walked from Bewdley back to Hagley train station. The section from Hagley to Barnt Green over the Clent and Lickey's would make a good video too. Anyway, enjoying your vids.

Another fab video. I've never been to Woodgate Valley but that's definitely on my 'to do' list for the spring/summer. Drew, I've not seen all your videos yet but just wondered if you've covered Lutley? I started a ramble across there a few years ago but it was scorching hot at the time and so I didn't get very far but on my travels, someone mentioned that there was a Lultey Mill...I didn't know if its an actual mill? Also, have you ever been up Newbury Lane/Bury Hill Park? There's some stunning views up there and remains of what looks like old factory buildings. But I don't know much about it, just wondered if you've been up that way?

If you had walked through the cul-de-sac on the the left when you walked over the motorway, you could of gone to Woodgate Valley Park that way, there is a little pathway that the horses used to move the coal from the canal to Birmingham. Lovely area to walk and explore.

Thanks for sharing that might have to check that out next time up there ☺️

@@drewsoutdooradventures01 look on google maps its a pathway that links Nailers Close to Gleads Croft. Not very big but obviously used for that in the past.

@@drewsoutdooradventures01 with you! I was flitting through an OS route map thinking you'd gone under the frankley underpass just south of the M5 frankley services. If you have time and haven't done so, it's a lovely walk. Very much enjoy your content, gives good routes for my walk/run cross country
