The shot of the H. Moser & Cie with the seconds hand fixed to the camera position (I assume the watch is spinning on a lazy susan at one rotation per minute while the camera focused on the seconds hand?) was genuinely impressive. I'd love a behind the scenes of what it takes to make a Watchfinder video.

The last piece, the A. Lang & Sohne is just totally crazy, the two chronographs on top of each other... I mean, you are never gonna use it, trully no, but the fact that it can do is far more satisfying that knowing that your Submariner can go 300 meters or so into the ocean. Love it!

Some really great choices. For me, my Speedmaster racing Panda dial gets the chronograph nod, a Stowa Fleiger (36mm) manual would get the tool watch/aviator spot (they have a gorgeous bronze cased model available), a diver would be covered by a Black Bay Steel, dress watch would go to something vintage (picked up a Longines from the 40’s that had a great Cartier Tank feel to it but funkier), and a Blancpain Leman day/night double time zone would probably get the complication watch spot (or a Jaeger master control calendar).

My picks before watching the video: Daily Wears~ 1. Rolex - Submariner 2. Omega - Speedmaster From what I've seen, almost every enthusiast with a >$100,000 collection has both of these pieces and for good reason. They are perhaps the two most iconic pieces around, and from two very highly sought after brands. These pieces will represent the daily wears/sports watches for the collection Dress Watches~ 3. A. Lange Söhne - Lange 1 Refined, technical, and beautiful, the Lange 1 line is one of the most beloved by enthusiasts. There is no space wasted on the dial and the movement is simply stunning. 4. Jaeger LeCoultre - Reverso DuoFace Small Seconds The ultimate enthusiast collection would feel incomplete without an entry from JLC, the watchmaker's watchmaker. This piece is an icon and provides a decidedly different element than the Lange, despite offering its own form of fanciful class. 5. Grand Seiko - Snowflake When considering the world of luxury watchmaking and its many offerings, Grand Seiko stands alone as one of the truly unique brands with its Spring Drive movements. Enthusiasts also enjoy the unique and innovative dial on this piece as well as the Zaratsu polishing.

I would have replaced the Dornbluth with any white dial automatic NOMOS. The collection already have timers at the 2 extreme ends. The NOMOS can go from office to cocktail to dinner to weekends …with almost any age and dress code, and cheaper. And always a little cooler than the masses in every situations. And a different JLC, a gold Reverso, preferably the Tribute. This will fill the gap in having a formal gold watch, but can slid into semi formal or business casual situations because of its shape and history as a sport watch. Also this will give an alternative to the round shape of the rest of the collection.
@ssslovak472 жыл бұрын
I agree with you about the nomos. I have nomos club as a daily watch and must say it's the most accurate watch in my collection. It's running plus 3 seconds a week which is very impressive for $1500 watch. Lots of people think that nomos has boring design and long lugs but I really enjoy the look.

(1) For me the adventurer's watch is my Traser Pioneer P96 with a personalized print and etching remembering time my brother spent in a specialist unit (also a gift from him). Tritium lume seems ideal for this purpose to me. (2) My professional (office) watch will have to be a Straum Opphav Damasmus in white. Quite a looker. Goes well with black, grey and blue suits. (3) As I'm having use for timing things in the office too, and ride to work on a bike, my pick for an "office chrono" is a Junghans Form C (white) of minimalist aesthetics. Quartz can't be beaten for accuracy, realibilty and a grab'n'go attitude on hectic family mornings when you should already be at your work desk. Especially with chronos I found I am not found of the added height of mechanic movements (dress shirts compatibility). Thus for leisure pursuits I'm quite content with Seiko Meca-Quartz SSB031 worn on a black rallye band with red stitching or its white equivalent (SSB025) with a beads-of-rice bracelet for the summer. But my real pick for this category would actually not be the chrono, but the GMT traveller watch instead, and I'd pick my Zodiac "Sherbet" here. (4) My favorite everyday watch which wins most wrist-time (due to excellent wearability) is easily a blue Frederique Constant Highlife (sometimes on bracelet, other times on rubber), which would be replaced by a blue Vacheron Constantin Overseas, if I were to win the lottery. The realistic replacement someday here will be a blue Tudor Pelagos titanium. To match the outfit I'm wearing, alternatively a Mido Ocean Star 200 Titanium (anthracite/orange) or an Oris Okavango (green) stand ready. (5) However, for the complication watch, - here comes the anti-climax - I'd settle with my Casio ProTrek PRW-30-1AER, because the compass is doing it for my outdoors activities, and is a very useful complication, even if you've also packed a real compass.
