That watch is gorgeous . Right up my strata. I really don’t mind 5he mineral crystal as it adds to the vintage vibes for me.another stunning pick sir. No wonder you had your eye on it. Such a shame about the lume & the other few issues.

If they make a version 2, they should just use a push-pull crown for the bezel, especially if the main crown is push-pull. They should be able to do that and still maintain the 100 meters of WR.

Thanks for the great and honest review. I leave essentially the same comment about Merkur Watches (and its sub brands) every time. Beautiful looks. I can’t quite pull the trigger due to specs and movement, but I believe their primary market isn’t the West anyway. Thanks for all the effort you put in!

I have this, but the version with the Mido style face. I have a lot of the same feelings. I am not sure this will stay in the collection for long.

Very nice skin diver style watch let down by some elements. Non-hacking I can live with, but highly exposed mineral crystal, and dysfunctional bezel lock turn me off. The killer for me would be "antichoc manuel" (sic). Presumably they meant anti-shock manual which would make sense at least. It's a shame because looks wise it's a winner.

Antichoc manuel is French for Antishock manual, so going with the French vibe even in the labelling to match the design is not necessarily an error on their part. Agree though that it is a bit of a weird choice for most customers

Love Merkur's designs. Never purchased because I have heard more than a few folks having issues with their movements. So many AE brands are upping their game, Merkur would benefit from doing likewise.

Merkur are such a frustrating brand, they design some superb looking watches and then put unreliable non-hacking movements. The one I had had great lume on the dial and terrible lume on the hands ☹️. Good review, thanks for showing the defects like the date change and the deal breaking bezel movement.

Love the look of this one. Don’t get the poor lume though when the indices are this big. Either do good lume or just don’t add it at all. Bezel issue is unfortunate, push pull crown would fix that though. How’s the strap? I like the look of it

@ I will likely have a go at this one. Such a unique look and I’ve wanted a skin diver for a bit now. Price is decent too. I’ll just not wear it to bed and leave the bezel alone. That may be hard though as I do like an internal bezel 🤔

They make some good looking watches....but the chinese movements are hit and miss. My Merkur GMT lasted all of three months before the HZ movement vomited out one of the jewels.

Shame that, I like the overall look but without sapphire and that ridiculous rotating bezel it's a No from me, you clearly highlight why inner rotating bezels are just pointless and I steer well clear of any watch that has one.
