YES Please, I would LOVE to see MANY more videos of seasonal wear, how you combine the obi, obijime, kimono, etc. Perhaps Evening Wear, Party ensembles for grown-up parties and ones for family or children's parties, kimono outfits for visiting friends, shopping, and other casual activities, plus, kimono outfits for Festivals, going to restaurants, cafés, Weddings, christenings,.... everything! please 💝🙏😊 Aside from the fabulous green yukata (your birthday present is so beautiful; such a refreshing green melon colour), and the wonderful hydrangea yukata, I love numbers 1, 3, 4, 5, and 8 I really LOVE your channel. Thank you so much for your hard work. I have some kimono and thought that 'one day' I will somehow learn how to wear them properly, but that day is a long way off. Watching your videos really inspires me. I've brought forward 'one day' and it's going to be very soon. I just have to save up to get some undergarments (after watching some of your videos in an attempt to better understand what to look out for, and what to avoid). I've half unpacked my kimono trunk to discover what I have and what else I need. SO EXCITING.😊😊😊 I appreciate the casual + educational content. Your channel really is fantastic. You make it so easy to learn about the world of Japanese [traditional] fashion in an easy-going conversational style

I love your third day Kimono! The pattern and colours are just my style. I’m currently sewing my first kimono. Fallowing your other video instructions. I am making mine out of 100% linen. So it will be cool in the summer. I’m also sewing it completely by hand. Because that’s what I prefer. You’ve been such an inspiration on me. To pursue my desire to wear traditional Japanese clothing. More in my everyday. Thank You!

I love all of the kitsuke you have done here, but I think the last one has to be my favorite. That green is so lovely and the frog obi…I have said so multiple times. Too cute!!! It was really fun to see your collection and the stories behind them too, it helped me understand summer wear a lot better. Edit: oh! I also meant to say, I’m glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t like polyester on my skin. People look at me like I’m crazy when I like something and then realize it’s made of polyester-sometimes it just feels hotter to me no matter how thin!
@Saphara2 жыл бұрын
Since polyester is a synthetic fiber it doesn't 'wick' away sweat or moisture which can end up making some feel sticky/sweaty/swampy, especially high polyester fabrics with tight weaves.
@dynademerritt53372 жыл бұрын
@@Saphara oh that totally makes sense. I’m still learning about fabric textures and fibers so that’s good to know-I’ve always preferred working and wearing natural fibers (training seamstress, new to kitsuke though)

(This is Sacha btw) It is impossible to say which outfit is my favorite since they all look exceptionally beautiful no matter how simple you put them together. This was a delight to see, and look forward to more, pretty please, thank you for the misubi class. Perhaps this fall I can afford your Patron or classes, I have wanted to for so long now. I tend to like kimono over yukata, don't know why perhaps I like silk more against my skin. I can't wear polyester at all I break out from it, so I never think to buy any, I avoid them. I never thought of wearing a silk susoyoke or juban under one. I love all your kimono but love the design on the dark one with the blue and golden yellow most. Ramie sounds like it acts like pure linen before you have treated(softened) it. I made myself some reclaimed/(failed bilout) linen susoyoke that I love. I also have some summer tannomo I bought long ago at Sou. I am embroidering a black ro kimono(a tannomo gift) I made mostly with white thread. I haven't finished it yet as I can't make up my mind what to put on the sleeves.

I loved seeing all the different kimono and yukata. I especially loved the 3rd outfit because I love the jewel tones, especially that particular shade of purple. Mmm 'chef's kiss'. Also I really liked the 6th outfit. The yellow and purple/lavender flowers was particularly lovely. And the last outfit is so beautiful. Like I said in your IG, it's a beautiful color of green and it makes you look even more beautiful. I do have a question about the zori. I noticed that they are shorter than you foot. Is this typical of zori? I ask because a zori like that would be painful for me to wear. Sometimes my slippers slip off my foot when I don't really realize it, and when I step down my foot arch comes down hard onto the back edge of my slipper and it hurts. Oh, and I had to giggle when you said that at 32 (90 F) degrees was a bit cool. Where I live it is currently 28 (82 F) at 16:30 and if the forecast predicts a temperature of 32 (90 F) or higher, heat advisories are posted and people are asked to check on their elderly family members. Though, to be fair, you are living on an island which probably has some nice breezes coming in from the water that surrounds you.

Matsunaga-Sensei, if you see this, is it possible to do a video on plus size kimono for people? Good, affordable places to buy maybe, interviewing/talking with some plus size kitsuke wearers that might have tips/tricks for wearing kimono plus size, or even tips for making our own kimono if we're plus size? I have found that even if I get my measurements all correct, that buying online is still a big gamble since the size of kimono will be still too small even if i match their sizing chart or even go they next size up... This makes it hard to find accurate or trustworthy places v_v;; and another specific problem that I have, is that in the one kimono I own that barely fits measurement wise when I stand - after I'm all tied in the obi and looking nice, I can't sit down at all. The way my hips are are much wider than the rest of my body (I'm like a pear shape) when I sit. This pulls on the fabric in a way that opens the bottom up unintentionally and shifts the whole thing kinda diagonally. and I have to readjust the whole outfit after each time sitting. I bought a susoyoke and tried more padding to like... even out my waist to my hips more but I just can't figure out how to make it work and look nice. I want to confidently wear kimono out of the house but as of right now with little to no guidance online for plus size people it's been really hard, I haven't found any plus size kitsuke content creators to follow either so I hope that maybe you'd be able to recommend or do a video about this topic. I, and probably many others, would really appreciate it coming from a reliable source! Arigatou! - K.M.Hush (they/them)
