@@aylosmith3963 sorry for the late response wow i’m just seeing this! i ended up taking medical pathology and lab medicine for my undergrad and almost done with it! but taking a pause due to covid and travel restrictions, soon after will hopefully specialise in forensic pathology ☺️♥️

I got my license as an embalmer in 2017 and I’ll be renewing my license next year. I hope she survives, gets that degree and actually practice it. We need more like her. im a sophomore in high school and I’m considering going to university for forensics. i was just wondering what classes I should take in high school to better my chances at a university. I’m taking ap bio and ap chem and they also offer a few forensics classes. is there anything that would help me stand out amongst the other people applying for university? also is forensics at all like they portray it on tv? obviously they glorify it for the sake of keeping viewers interested, but is it anything like tv? that’s part of the reason I’m interested in forensics, the other part was my eighth grade science class lol

Just thought I'd give some info here Forensic science can lead to you doing law if you want by the way You'd need to do a GDL or an CPE which is a one year conversion course after Uni. Then you follow a route that a law graduate would.

Is it better to major specifically in forensic science or in something like chemistry or biology? I read that you can do either, but I feel like forensic science would be the better option. It's just there are not many colleges that I've found that offer forensic science specifically as a major.

I'm applying to colleges this week and am going to work toward a degree in Forensics. I've been having a lot of doubts lately and was wondering if maybe you could clear some things up for me? At your school, what math classes are you taking? A lot of websites I've looked at have said that most forensic students take Calculus 1,2,3, and so on. Also, are you going for your bachelor's degree? That's what I'm going for when I start school, but I was wondering if you knew whether or not some schools can offer you a master's degree in forensics instead? Hi Kylie, the entry requirements may vary depending on the country & university you choose to apply for. I am currently in my final year of my bachelor's degree and I hope to do my masters after. I'm not sure whether you can do a master's degree without your bachelor's however I assume it might be more difficult to do your masters straight after school. In regards to maths, I did Mathematics until A level here in the UK and it does cover Calculus. I hope this helps! Good luck with your college application!

As a forensic scientist, do you have to attend crime scenes? Do we have to deal with dead bodies? What is the area that deals with finger prints in forensics? I'm not too comfortable with gore and all that but I find forensic science interesting?

Hi Crystal, usually it is the forensic investigators that attend the crime scene however a forensic scientist may be called in for evidence collection and examination. Forensic scientists specialise in analysis of the evidence collected and they are asked to attend court as an expert witness. They will not be heavily involved with dead bodies however it is likely that you will encounter one. In regards to fingerprinting, it is a skill that you will learn as a forensic scientist but often, if you wanted to, you can further specialise in this field. Fingerprint analysis is done in a lab environment. I hope this helps :)

Mirna Candle Most forensic related careers involves dead bodies. except ballistics (gun stuff), toxicology, and other stuff. So im sure there are some for you lol
