Hey y’all, first of all thanks for watching my video! 😊 There’s been a ton of questions asked and I have done my best to reply to a lot of them. As for why I do this and not regular Uber it’s just my preference not to have random people in my car. I quit my Amazon delivery driver job a few months ago and have been enjoying the freedom of doing Uber Eats. It’s not the best but it works for the time being until I find something better. If you look at how much I made and deduct taxes and expenses you can see that Uber eats doesn’t pay well. Props to anyone out there making it work longer term but for me it’s only temporary. There is a lot of great information in the comments. Thank you to everyone who did the calculations and put them down below. Hi! I have been playing the Uber Eats delivery / passenger game and I can add to this for you. Deliveries are best during extreme weather conditions (then you can hit McDonalds and make many micro trips) Where as recently I have gone back over to the passenger side of things. See Uber Eats servers had a nasty habit of sending me 20 mins out for 3 min delivery (not gas happy) where as I just finished a 1 hour trip with a passenger and made $68.xx. So driving people you make more money hands down vs Delivery, where as Delivery is like a full time job. while I still do both at times, that is usually only around the down times. But delivery customers are too picky. (also, these are Denver, Colorado stats)

If you ever want to try regular uber you could do what one of my uber drivers did. He poached uber riders from uber and did like a private car business. It was great for me because it was a little cheaper and they kept all the money. Plus they had definite clientele. His son did it too and it helped them keep their home. Like they dropped someone off at my college and then picked me up and took me to work. So that’s back to back money. And they were so nice

I do uber eats in NW Illinois and for every $200 I make, I spend $40 on gas! I never owe anything in taxes because I have an app that tracks my miles. I can also claim any meals I eat on the road, and maintenance as business expenses. My advice to you is to get an app to help track your miles so you don’t owe much in taxes, if anything.

You can also use quickbooks self employed. It’s pricey but you can deduct it as a business expense. It tracks mileage and your expenses. And you can file and pay quarterlies. So I use that. I haven’t tried the other app. But it does save your yearlies. And you need that if you are ever audited.

I been doing Uber eat, doordash, and Instacart for about 4 month doing 4-5 hrs a day and earn an avg of $600-$750 weekly minus gas which is $60-$70 a week. I use to work at a warehouse getting paid $11.50 and at time work from 9am to 7-8pm for a couple day out of the week and on those day that I don’t do those longer hours is always a full 8 and I am taking home $750-$850 every other week which is less then Working for This kind of platform..Yeah when is all add up it may not pay a lot but is doesn’t take much work on your body and don’t have a boss breathing down your neck. On top of that if I ever need it more cash I can always work more or needed a day off I can always take it without asking anyone.

The key to making the money when doing UberEats is I only go out if the pay is 1.3 the pay and that’s rare if I do that, but going out when the pay is 1.4 and higher is ideal. Also you want to go from 11am-2pm “bam” $60 at minimal $55. Then go back from 5pm-9pm where the pay is always 1.4 - 2.1 that’s at least $80-$100. in 7 hours $130-$160 a day. Uber eats, Doordash, Postmate, and Clavier are all about the same you spend your wheels trying to stay above water. These so gig economy jobs blows the winners are the Company not you. These jobs keeps you poor. After driving 40 hours you should make enough to pay your rent. I drove for Lyft 2010-2016 the first five was great after that I was making less and I had to let it go, the bills piled up I.e. Tickets, drop pay, repairs, and more drivers means you are now just a sucker.

Some gig economy jobs are great. Mine lets me work from home, set my own rates (around $50/hr), plan my own schedule. I've been doing it for years. It is not a driving job though. Driving jobs are the worst because you need your car to make your money, but every time you work, your car becomes less valuable and more worn out.
@Annabanana68196 жыл бұрын
This is an okay job for someone like me (a student) who only pays $700 a month including utilities, because I have no time to work a regular job because my classes take up too much time. I like driving and I do doordash, if I worked 35 hour weeks i would make plenty to pay my rent within two weeks. It’s a low stress job with ultimate flexibility in the hours and that’s the only reason I do it lol. Otherwise not worth the time if you have actual bills to pay.

It's better to work at Domino's. You get your hourly rate, then you also get tips and millage(money you get for gas and car wear(mostly for gas though)). I usually get $10 an hour in tips most of the time more, rarely bellow $10. and I may do 50-100 miles a day, depending on how busy we are. I only work 3 days and about 20-23 hours a week and I get about $300-400 by the time i put my money in my bank. The next week. So by the end of the month I'm about $1400-1500 usually. sometimes more, just depends what people tip. And remember, if you can't afford to tip your driver at least $3 then don't order food, go to walmart, spend $20 and you have food for a week(the same amount, or less, you were going to spend on one meal).

I live in Glendale California I used to do uber eats part time and I was making good money to be honest but I stoped doing it on August 20 th 2018 because they changed the rates it’s horrible they have lowered the pick up and the drop off fee so bad that it’s crazy and also the pay for the miles the only thing that they added is pay for the time but it’s stupid cuz most of the deliveries are in a short distance and they pay 15 cents per minute like for example on a regular delivery that is not far or not that close I was averaging $7 on a delivery now with this new rates it’s like $3.50 a delivery it’s a scam

I wonder if registering as an LLC would provide some benefits to make it more attractive. Pay expenses first like gas, car maintenance, cell service. Those are business expense. Then pay yourself dividends to save on income tax and what's left as profit is then taxable which would be a fraction of what's left. I'm no expert though and I don't live in the USA not sure if that would work for you.
@skyeric8756 жыл бұрын
The problem would be double taxation. The LLC would be paying tax then the "div" when you report also. You can write off all expenses during your trips and depreciation of the vehicle
@jemmrich6 жыл бұрын
skyeric875 dividends have a different tax rate. In my country dividends of ~$49,000 are tax free. Best scenario is to only draw less than the 50k and keep rest in the biz. Since the remaining profit of the business is after expenses and dividend and, in theory, wouldn't you end up paying less tax?
