I'm actually glad that you shared how much hair you shed after a couple days. I thought I shed a lot, I definately think you have me beat 😂. That makes me feel better. When I take my hair down from a pineapple or messy bun, it feels "sore". Sometimes, it hurts when I touch my scalp afterwards (and my pineapple isn't tight at all). So cool to see how your hair transforms day by day! Social media makes us think that your hair is perfect all the time, but this gives us a real look at the realities of curly/wavy hair. I just started a new wash technique of styling upright and hove diffusing my waves ONLY. I find that my waves are much looser and flatter, but the day 3 and 4 hair is not as wild and poofy. I'd love to see you try this as well! Love your videos, Courtney :)

Ok, I am SO glad to see that I'm not the only one with a scalp oily enough that I wash it every other day! Everyone else I watch seems like they wash every 5-7 days and my hair would be slicked to my head like a nasty helmet if I waited that long!! Also... I'm a mom of 4 boys... my hair is in a ponytail pretty much daily... I just hate it touching my face and chasing kids all day, I feel like I'm constantly picking someone up, putting someone down, picking up toys, etc. Hair in the face through all that is terrible to me!!

Love your channel! I have been binge watching it as I'm a researcher and a science nerd but also bc I'm 42 years old and just had an epiphany that my so-called "straight" hair is actually very wavy! It's no wonder it never looked good (to my standards) when I air dried it! I have long, fine, dense blondish hair, and I'm struggling with this transition hair frizz. Oh, and I live in Central Florida, so it's always humid here. I bought so many hair products thinking I was helping myself, but it turns out they're all glycerin heavy which doesn't seem to work on my hair. So much glycerfrizz!! I am taking it day by day and embracing the journey as I've never enhanced my waves before. I believe I'm a 2a right now, but im not sure if that's where I'll stay.

Hi Courtney I am interested in steam refreshing as a video topic as I've been curious about it. I noted again (way down in the description box) that this was a partially sponsored video, without any mention of that fact in the video itself or title. The video in of itself was fine and i don't object to sponsorships - just to it not being mentioned during that portion of the video. I don't think there are that many of us who don't wear their long hair tied up, at least part of the time. We're still in our second full lockdown in Scotland (since 26 December 2020), so mine is tied up most days tbh. I don't wear it down when I'm just in my house, or do much to it in between wash days. I find sleeping in a bonnet saves me having it tied up overnight, which means my scalp doesn't feel "funny/strange" in the morning. Best wishes.

Day 5 Mop Top green label gel are you sure it’s glycerin free? The only ones I’ve found with green labels do contain glycerin. Also aloe being the 5th ingredient which is a humectant too. I’ve found a black label salon Mop Top and it clearly states in description Glycerin along with aloe.

I don't quite get the point of steam refreshing. To me, the concept of putting water into your hair would frizz it up. I live in Miami and the humidity is real. All that moisture instantly frizzles my hair up. So the thought to do it on purpose confuses me.
@FA1THXX-e2m3 жыл бұрын
I’m confused by it too. All I can figure is that someone who can use steam maybe doesn’t have the same level of frizz that I do. I have a decent amount of frizz no matter what. Even with a leave-in, a curl cream and a gel.
@illyyang3 жыл бұрын
I have an incredible amount of frizz (even at its best). Steam really helps if I smooth my hands down my hair in sections while I’m steaming it! It’s a game changer, just obviously not too much and not directly.

Looks like ya used a clarifying shampoo and a leave in conditioner. It’s always recommended to use a good hydrating conditioner after clarifying so your cuticle closes down properly and moisture is replenished well. Also, try the invisibobble scrunchie for sleeping with pineapple hair. They have a bobble inside the scrunchie and are far more gentle on your scalp. 👍

OH NOOOOO!!!! A clothes steamer gets way too hot for the hair strands! Also the boiling water method is way too hot also. No way to control the steam temp using those 2 methods. A facial steamer or the Q-redo hair steamer are the best choices for the scalp and hair.A facial steamer is made for delicate skin so the steam temp isn’t aggressively hot and the Q-redo hair steamer is made specifically for the hair plus with the Q-redo hair steamer you can get close to the scalp to open scalp pores for oil pre poo absorption.
