Becky, you don’t have to let the marinade go to waste when you grill. Just pour it into a saucepan, bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer until the marinade thickens. Depending what’s in it you may need to strain it. The result is usually a concentrated, flavorful sauce to pour over the grilled meat.

@@cynthiafisher9907 That's not safe Cynthia. There are thawed chicken juices in the left over marinade which is exactly why it can't be used a second time. Bringing it to the boil is essential to make it safe to use as a sauce.

On St. Patrick’s Day I’ll be 78! Since my parents both lived to 95 and had six to eight rows of veggies each summer, I have not thought of myself as being “over-the-hill” old...yet! So, as usual, I’m planning on planting a few tomatoes and a couple bell pepper plants this spring/summer! I’ve been doing this each year, as I really enjoy them! Hi Becky... A GARLIC PEELING HACK. I know this doesn't have anything to do with this episode but I immediately thought of you having your garlic get together to peel garlic. I did the biscuit method this time around and it's so much easier! I just cook the biscuits separately and serve them on the side to avoid soggy bottoms I also started to cut my Biscuits in squares to avoid having to smush pieces together. On the ends that means one or two sides don't have the flake look, so it's less pretty but I find it much easier and pretty much the same!

I live in a dorm, so I don't have much space...but I filled it to the brim and everytime I go to the store I come back with ten more things than I planned to, especially bread, pasta and rice variants. Then I keep reaching for the "easy" options instead of actually cooking(even though I love doing it!) and run out of those and produce so quickly that I feel like I need to go to the store again, to refill just this one thing only to end up with another big haul I didn't actually need😅 So now I'm not going to the store again until I've eaten through my stockpile and instead ask my roommates to get some fresh produce for me when they go shopping, so that I can't be tempted to bring home unnecessary things ^^

A tip that I use for meal planning is to go through what I have and make a four-week menu taking into consideration that some busy nights will have to be easy meals. I personally like this because some nights get turned into leftover nights meaning I will still have meals left over in case I can't get to the store right away. By having different levels of effort meals I can also easily move certain items around when needed. This plan also makes it so that if I have a day where I can prep freezer meals I already know what to make. Having the meals also helps me remember what ingredients I have. So if I have lasagna on the menu and I decide I don't want to make it I can instead use the same ingredients to make baked ziti just changing the noodle shape. I like to have around two complicated meals a week so that i can still make something fun to cook when im inspired.

I make mushroom powder regularly, but I also made a super concentrated mushroom seasoning, a huge shopping bag of different fresh mushrooms and some dried ones ended out as a cup of powder in the end. It is such a flavor bomb, so it has to be used sparingly, but it is amazing in sauces etc. Fantastic! 🤗

I am always dehydrating baby Bellas, because I love the flavor, but I never thought of making a powder out of them. Thanks for the idea!

Hi Becky! That gnocchi looked amazing! FYI, you can really cook chicken thighs to 180. I know that sounds like it might be overdoing it, but it helps tenderize the meat more. The collagen in the meat will melt and turn to gelatin and it just yields a tastier product!

Agreed! It always seems undercooked if I only do to 165. I mean it’s just less tender.

Cook the sauce. Either in the grill on a pan that can take the heat or on the stove and then you can eat the sauce. You can add more to the chicken at the end and use it on the rice.

Baby boy is just talking away now lol I love it. Also, I'm so here for compound butters! I love your channel so much, I've learned so much and already have incorporated things into my cooking!

If you’re going to regularly cook whilst wearing Baby A you might want to get him some ear protection to protect his little ears - they sell special headband style ones for young babies 😊

Why? She carried him for 9 months he’s use to being that close. Literally doesn’t make sense

Becky, that view from your kitchen is beyond awesome. It would be wonderful to have those mountains everyday. I loved your meals that you prepared.

I watched an older Jamie Oliver Christmas video where he makes 4 compound butters...I have made 2 of them and, seriously, I added them to anything I thought they'd work well with!! Since then, I have made garlic butter which I keep in the freezer and pop onto steaks/lamb, potatoes. The butters don't take much time to make and are really worth doing! PS. loving hearing little Baby A sharing his thoughts in the background!!

Hi Becky! Another idea for your freeze dried strawberries if you still have some would be to save some for frostings. Yummy!! A beautiful home made vanilla cake with strawberry jam between the layers and a strawberry, cream cheese frosting - you’d be a rock star at your next family dinner.😄
