Last Summer ('22) I was blessed to go fishing in Kenai with my father who has dementia and Alzheimer's. It turned out to be perfect timing as his health has taken a turn and he would no longer be able to physically do that trip again. Fishing in Alaska was never on my bucket list but something changed in me that trip. Not only will I cherish the memories made there with my father, but I loved it so much that I was able to convince 3 buddies of mine to book a week-long trip for the Summer of '24. Watching this video didn't just make me miss Alaska, it made my heart ache for it. I can't wait to go back.

Not long left to wait now my friend. My father passed shortly after our last fishing trip. He stands beside me in spirit every time I cast. Sending well wishes from England. Alaska is too a dream of mine. One day I'm sure of it.

Just got back from a week at All Alaska Outdoors with Dr. Bob and team. I was inspired by this video and booked our trip last November. It was even better than we imagined. The fishing, lodging, accommodations, scenery, local restaurants and the flying excursions were all over the top. By far, the best fly fishing trip we’ve ever experienced. Thanks Dr. Bob and the Wild Fly team for the inspiration.

Love the story. Sounds like most stories I've heard over my fifty, almost sixty years of living here and there's my own experience. I commercial fished in Bristol Bay and west Cook Inlet, fly rod on the many rivers in Kodiak while a fox tried to steal my first catch only to find out there was a brown bear in the bushes behind us,, trolling in the southwest waters of Annette Island, fighting off a mother moose on the Kenai peninsula on a canoe trip, confronted by several bears in Katmai (like six or seven} fly fishing in Yakutat while a bear was coming across the river towards us in high grass at Lost River. Yeah, this is good stuff, but its just another day in Alaska. Not to mention the black bear that was just on our two-story deck eating the leftover bird seeds. My cat didn't like it but all is good. Alaska is so much more than a short expose can cover, so I humbly ask forgiveness for seeming to make light of your experience, There are still a lot of "old timers" in Alaska that remember a different time. I encourage you to explore that avenue because I haven't come across anyone that has yet ( I could be wrong) produced a significant account of Alaskan history in the twentieth century. Most of us do not want further attention bringing in more "outsiders" but I am proud of our state and while I don't like what is happening even in our remote location, there are SO many stories that would enthrall readers but that generation is expiring. Go get these stories while you can, otherwise, they might be lost to time,
