Without super armour it’d just be ‘spam buttons until you win’ I think a better way would probably be a stamina gauge, but you need something to stop enemies from being infinited

The super armor is a sign that they're using some attack. It's a clearer telegraph of their moves, that way they don't just appear and slap you. It's a way to prevent you from spam comboing and force you off of them.

Just so you know Piccolo does have a transformation if you hold L2 and R2 "True Namekian Fusion is a like 20% power boost but it helps regardless

seereax kinda hit it on the head, sometimes it does seem like kakarot wasn't trying with cut scenes and others you are left just in awe at how great it looks. honestly i feel like the dev's and the people working on the game had a set date and had just certain scenes had to get the meh treatment. they probably ran out of time for certain scenes, like i know a big one is the final flash scene with vegeta vs cell had a lot of people mad, and i feel like they weren't going to be allowed to push back the date to fully put in the time to do EVERY big scene so they had to make due with what they were given
