i had a colleague i once worked with who was born in the 60s and discussed rhodesia with him. he told me it was the place to be because of how strong the currency was and how it was the breadbasket of africa. he also said that when rhodesia fell and became zimbabwe, zimbabwe laughed at zambia. now zambia is laughing themselves stupid at zimbabwe.

They built sheds to house their farm machinery and packing sheds for their produce. Later they built a home as well. They lost every thing they had worked for and came to close loosing their lives. They grew food and were part of making the country the food bowl of Africa. Racism and jealousy destroyed that country and it has never recovered. Just how sad is that?

It's the same in our country here in Asia. The government through "Land Reform" divided productive haciendas (farms) and distributed them to small farmers. The once large coconut plantations will end up into dozens of small plots with different products and without access to market.
