i had a colleague i once worked with who was born in the 60s and discussed rhodesia with him. he told me it was the place to be because of how strong the currency was and how it was the breadbasket of africa. he also said that when rhodesia fell and became zimbabwe, zimbabwe laughed at zambia. now zambia is laughing themselves stupid at zimbabwe.

@@ndivhomudzanani7520 My relatives migrated to Southern Rhodesia in about 1946 / 47, they purchased land close to Harare, they farmed the land as they paid off the balance of the money owing. They built sheds to house their farm machinery and packing sheds for their produce. Later they built a home as well. They lost every thing they had worked for and came to close loosing their lives. They grew food and were part of making the country the food bowl of Africa. Racism and jealousy destroyed that country and it has never recovered. Just how sad is that?

As a zimbabwean land reform had to happen but the illegal way in which we carried out the reforms needs to be addressed and we cannot allow such things to happen today since the white farmers are now protected by the constitution of 2013 , there’s enough land for everyone in Zimbabwe

It's the same in our country here in Asia. The government through "Land Reform" divided productive haciendas (farms) and distributed them to small farmers. The once large coconut plantations will end up into dozens of small plots with different products and without access to market. They have destroyed a thriving farm economy to satisfy their non-farmer left leaning supporters.

Land Reform is good, but the politicians were or still are the main reason why it is very unsuccessful in the Philippines. Giving lads to poor farmers without proper training and assistance will not make sense. In the end, they will again sell it to another buyer.

Zimbabwe was still ran by an inept dictator for decades thanks to the power vacuum left by the exit of apartheid, but Zimbabwe still wouldn't have been better off with whites owning the land, since that wealth would be getting passed down from generation to generation, further cementing the economic inequality created by colonialism.

This case has gone into courts and both the two farmers bought the same farm . The black farmer won the case (it’s reasonable to say black farmer got some legal favours from the system) . I don’t think this is a case of land grab. It’s poor journalism from NewzAfrica . This narrative is old and boring now.
