As a professional housecleaner, who is certified by the American housecleaners Association, you should never use toilet bowl cleaner in places like the sink and tile grout. It eats away slowly, and will eventually ruin everything you’re using it on. Steel wool and a little bit of barkeepers friend, will do the exact same thing as the toilet bowl cleaner in the sink but less harmful. What you’re removing is not a stain but hard water. The more you know.

The houses you clean although some are big dont seem to be very dirty even mop water not too dirty at all. Looks like just bi- weekly cleaning or weekly with no deep cleaning. Is that right? I worked on a bathroom today and it took a little over 2 hours!! This was a bathroom with an entrance door then sink area with cabinets and 2 large mirrors, behind that the 2 folding door full linen closet so 4 more doors then another door to the toilet and shower/tub area so 6 doors total!! And they all needed deep cleaning. The bathroom had been cleaned like wiped mirrors , counter and sink but all the rest needed work!! First a dry dusting to remove dusty parts then spraying and wiping at least twice and drying. Lots of scrubbing involved. The counter and sink had older style tile and needed hand brushing to get it clean (used a hand held brush) then the toilet needed full attention if you know what I mean. The tub was not too bad but it did need wiping from waynup high shower area to the bottom.of outside the tub. There was no way that this job could be done in 20 to 30 minutes as all the doors needed attention. I didnt even get to cleaning the floor as it has a brown dark idk kind of tile that just collects dirt so I reserved that for the next day which is in 3 days when I can figure out hoe to get it clean. Lol . So yes, 2 hours on one bathroom. This bathroom is in a very large farmhouse style home where I have alot of more work to do. Hopefully I can get to a point of easy recurrent cleaning that does not need full on detailing..

I swear by the wooly puff balls for the dryer They actually help remove the pilling that build up over time on sweat shirts and stretch pants etc. (that washing inside out doesn’t always help) Sure beats using electric shaver. 🤭

Any tips for a beginner solo cleaner??? I would greatly appreciate it!!
@camillaorellanam Жыл бұрын
I never did it solo but when my mom first started she handed out many business cards and always asked her clients that if she knew anyone that needed a cleaner, that she was willing to do it! Cleaning can definitely make lots of money so always remember to know your worth! Lots of clients try to make you do extra things and pay you the same. For example, if they ask if you can wash the bed sheets, that’s extra. If they ask to clean inside the fridge, that’s extra. If they ask you to do laundry, that’s extra. (Those are just my personal examples!) Hope and pray the best for you in this!!!🧼🧺✨

When you do laundry for clients, do you switch the load and then take it out of the dryer when your finished or keep it in? Also do you put clothes in the washer and then eventually put them in dryer?
@camillaorellanam Жыл бұрын
hey! so how we do the laundry is we put it to wash when we arrive. Then as we’re cleaning we will go back and put them to dry. When we’re done with the house, we will take everything out the dryer and fold / hang. If there is anything that didn’t dry within that time, we will leave the drier on and leave the house. Some houses we put it back in the drawers and hang up in the closet but in other house we just fold and leave the clothes in the laundry room or in a basket
