Hey Daniel! I’m new in the taxidermy world and your videos have been an amazing help in making my dreams come true I have an apprenticeship in a taxidermy shop around the area I live and between him and your videos I’ve been able to learn so much I’m hoping to get a buck of my own to practice mounting this year and if all goes well I can start doing mounts for friends and family as well and who knows maybe I can be where you are one day that would be a dream come true!

You are one of the best people to watch! I have learned so much from you and ready to tackle this season coming up. Do you have any storage videos? Like where you keep everything frozen until its turn. Or any system advice?
@thecedarridgechroniclesАй бұрын
I’ll make a video on it next week 👍

Loving this series so much! Super interesting seeing what you do in a week. Do you think you'll ever work on animals other than deer? Or is that your focus? And if so, do you ever get bored?
@thecedarridgechroniclesАй бұрын
No I just really love deer in general. Hunting them, drawing and painting them, and mounting them. I actually enjoy having a routine and an assembly line style setup because the simplicity keeps me open to hunt and fish when I want with very little changes in my routine 👍
@NeonPossumАй бұрын
@@thecedarridgechronicles I love how you do the assembly line setup, very productive! And that's amazing, I'd love to see your deer drawings and paintings someday. Keep it up dude, you're an inspiration :)

what's the best way to keep your pickle clean? mine ended up cloudy and "muddy" looking after 2 cows and a deer in it. The PH started climbing to 2 instead of 1.5 where it had been. I dumped it out and will start over next time.
@thecedarridgechroniclesАй бұрын
The cleaner the hides are going in, the cleaner it will stay, but as it draws out the fluids from the hide they will contaminate the pickle no matter how clean the capes are on the outside and the thicker they are the worse it is. As a general rule if I have to add acid to a pickle, I always replace it once that batch of hides is finished.

Do you take a dated picture of the customer holding their deer rack, just in case the customer picking up his deer head says “that’s not my deer, mine was bigger than that.”? Just a good CYA policy.
@thecedarridgechroniclesАй бұрын
I but they are assigned a number and watch me put the number on the rack. With social media these days it is really hard to get away with that because nearly everyone has a pic online. Still not a bad idea though.

Daniel, do you offer apprenticeship or grunt work for people (me) that could work for knowledge only? Let me know and I’d be honored to come in for an interview.
@thecedarridgechroniclesАй бұрын
I sure don’t, but maybe eventually
@JB-JB-JB-JBАй бұрын
Yes sir, I appreciate tour response and understand completely. Put me on that list when it comes to fruition. I won’t let you down. Thanks again and keep up the fantastic work.
