BeautywithEmilyFox I’ve finished 3 concealers at the same time 😂 and repurchased 2 of them, 1 maybelline fit me concealer, 1 maybe instant age rewind, did not repurchased maybelline superstay better skin concealer because I have to finished up my tarte shape tape first, come to think of it, I actually think superstay better skin concealer is a dupe for tarte shape tape, both is a little thick and dryer formula, and both didn’t really replace my number 1 favorite concealer which is the Maybelline age rewind concealer. ❤️

Vasanti's Eye Wonder cream. It's the only eye cream I've found that actually does something to brighten my under eyes and it's so moisturizing. And it's paraben and sulfate free and Canadian! I am curious to try the Eye Wonder 2.0 as well though.

Yes!!! I was going to comment the same thing about the Retinol 1%, but didn't want to sound argumentative... :)) Although I have worked my way up to 1%, starting with 0.25%. But at the same time, I really believe that Emily doesn't need 1%. In my understanding 1% is for those who are trying to get rid of fine lines, treating it mostly as a chemical peel, as opposed to a moisturizer that speeds up skin cells turnover in a gradual way...

Hi Emily! I think perhaps your hair conditioner could be contributing to your backne. Many of us rinse our hair conditioner out after washing our bodies, and the residue from it can remain on our skin and be occlusive and comedogenic. Neutrogena has a great salicylic cleanser you could try, but really I think washing your back after you've rinsed out your conditioner is the main thing. Also, since your skin responds well to tea tree oil, you may consider adding it to your shampoo and/or bodywash since some forms of acne, dandruff and breakouts are due to a particular little yeasty fungal critter that has decided you're an excellent host. It's quite possible that you're in that category, as tea tree oil is an antifungal. If it works, it's likely that's an issue for you.
@beautywithemilie
@beautywithemilie 6 жыл бұрын
I put my hair in the front to apply conditioner and wash my back last to avoid that issue! My acne was reduced by antibiotics (only lasted 2-3 weeks since the side effects were horrible for me!) and it's mostly hormonal now!

BeautywithEmilyFox The only thing that really cleared my acne was Traditional Chinese Medicine. I took it for 3 weeks and I never had any acne since then! Not even when I had a bag of potato chips everyday. The doctor said that's hormonal acne too. So maybe you can have a try if there's a Traditional Chinese Medicine clinic in where you live. But anyways this might work from person to person since it didn't work as good on friend though we went for the same doctor. Hope it helps a little bit.

I stopped birth control 4 months ago and my body is reacting the same way. I haven't had acne like this since middle school. Still trying to find something that gets me back to clear skin. I am really liking the murad clarifying cleanser though!! I got it on black friday and right now my skin is looking pretty clear. I think the fact that I haven't been wearing liquid foundation really helps though (only the it cosmetics illumination powder foundation) As for empties, I have only been repurchasing things I run out of as a rule for cutting down what I'm buying. I've gone through lots of pressed powders as an oily gal, but my most recent was the wet n wild translucent mattifying powder (it's not matte it's kind of like the hourglass powders which I did not like at all because I'm oily as hell)

??? Aren't we allowed the mention the issues we've had with birth control?! People never mentioned that they can cause health issues. Actually I almost died due to birth control and that's what I want to share in a future video. Doctors prescribe them like candy and one size fits all!! Us mentioning it didn't work for us doesn't mean it won't work for everyone but it does mean people should be careful and realize there can be bad side effects!!

Marie N we had terrible experiences with hormonal contraception just like many other women. It causes a lot of issues and they aren't all explained before you go on it so you don't really get to make an informed decision. There's a problem with the way hormonal contraception is handled in general and it's good for women to speak out about their experiences with it.

The Essence waterproof liquid liner with the brush tip is really good though, if you're not against a brush tip, the fineliner type one does dry out really quick and the tip isn't very durable, but the brushtip one is really good if you generally like the formula of it. Thank you so much for the video! Do you think the philosophy cleanser would be good for dry skin?

I wouldn’t recommend the ordinary to anyone who’s not a skincare geek. Lol. You need to know the ingredients and how to match it to your skin needs and other products you’re using with. Retinol is known for peeling your skin and you won’t see the good results till later on. You could still use it as a spot treatment tho. I would recommend the Buffet and the oils if you want to try something out from the line :)

I'm the same way about applying lotion. My legs especially get incredibly dry during the cold months. It's why I hate shaving my legs (and rarely do). Sephora had a body cream that came in a big tub for around $20ish that I used to LOVE. But now they only have an orange scented version of it. I have no idea why they got rid of it because I loved it! I shower in the mornings before work, and I'm often running late. I think that's why I don't like putting on lotion. It takes a little time to apply and absorb into the skin before I can get dressed. I would love to use a spray lotion instead, but they aren't moisturizing enough. I'm glad you mentioned the Selsun Blue. I developed dandruff about two years ago, seemingly out of nowhere. Luckily it's not bad now. I use the Target Up & Up brand of a different dandruff brand. It's the almond oil moisturizing one I think. I actually had flakes in my brows sometimes. So weird! My doctor told me I could leave the dandruff shampoo on my scalp and eyebrows for about five minutes, and I guess it helped. Lol 💁🏻‍♀️ I really like your eye makeup. It's like you have peek-a-boo glitter liner. Really pretty!

Oh you should always wash off micellar waters thought, it may not be as bad as leaving a foaming cleanser on your skin but it still isn't GOOD for your skin and affects the pH balance. Big tip about the oily cleansers btw: use them first to really get all the makeup and dirt, then remove the residue it leaves with micellar water. Does wonders.

I love the Ordinary Niacinamide and bought the Retinol 1% .I was lucky that while i was waiting for my order i saw a few reviews that warned that it can be harsh so i didn't dare to try it because i have very sensitive skin. I can recommend their Buffet serum (it is a bit sticky so i will only use at night), the Rose hip oil, the Glycolic acid (exfoliating toner) and their Natural moisturizing factors (i wear the moisturizer during the day under makeup and at night i will ad a few drops of the oil to get a bit more moisture)

Funny I always use twice more conditioner than shampoo, maybe cause have much longer hair than yours :-/ I love Indeed line here in the UK we buy it in Boots, using Retinol and loving it (warning you will peel off till your skin gets used to it, but it always happen with retinol products, that's what they are for in the end... to regenerate and get rid of old dead skin if it doesn't then it's not doing anything ;-)) :-) xx

I can't say for the Ordinary stuff, but some products for acne break you out and then it clears it up, like it gets it all out of your skin. I get it in theory but it's not fun when it's happening! It happened to me with Proactive and even though I see people having success with it I've still never used it again.

the problem with most foam cleansers is that their pH is too high, 7 and above.. for your skin and to keep the good oils on your skin and not strip it of everything (that's why you feel that dryness/tightness) you need a foam/water cleasnser with a low pH (3.5 to 5.5). I would suggest checking a Korean based cleanser like COSRX Low pH Good Morning Clenaser or a Japanese based cleanser like Hada Labo foam cleanser. Unfortunately western skin care companies haven't caught up to asian skin care when it comes to this point.

The 1% Retinol by The Ordinary is too strong to start with. You're supposed to ease into it. I've been using their 0.2% Retinol in Squalane and it's really mild. Once I finish the bottle I plane to order the 0.5% version. The Ordinary has reformulated their retinols, the old 1% lotion was really harsh for me too. I also use the Niacinamide without any problems and I have acne prone skin too.

Love that MUFE concealer! Especially the corrector color. I have the concealer too but like you said you definitely don't need both. I've actually been reaching for this over my Tarte Shape Tape recently! Probably because I've been going for more Natural looks, since I don't have the energy to go all out, but if I was going to do more of a "glam" look I go with the Tarte since it's more heavy duty :) Ps have you tried the Coverfx bronzer in Suntan? It's my new holy grail and has made my Nars ones collect dust lol. I'm going to order the darker shade since that one is really natural/neutral, which I love, but I'm going to California (I'll be in the desert mostly) for a couple months so who knows maybe I'll get a little color, probably not lol, but I might want to fake it who knows ;)

Technically it wasn't my first retinol products but yes... The Ordinary tends to have very strong products but this formula is just way too irritating! The other ones seem to be better and I might try them later!

That's what prescription retinol does, drugstore retinol just doesn't contain enough to get that peel and some people prefer a gentler product.

I actually really like using serums under my eyes instead of eye cream. I’m 25 and I could see reduction in first fine lines really quickly that way. I do have normal under eye skin and very oily lids so maybe that is why I feel I don’t need an eye cream. The last one I tried was the Origins Ginzing one and it was horrible for me! After 1 use it created minimum 20 milia bumps! I’m even afraid to give it to my mom as we have similar skin types. But she is 50 so I hope it works out for her. But I love Origins Plantscription serum (face serum) under my eyes so much!

How I'm curious about trying that serum... I wonder if I'll love it as much as the eye cream!

Hi Emily, could you please tell me what ingredient in The Ordinary Niacinamide + Zinc formula was listed very irritating on a website you mentionned ? Thank you 😘

I found it, it's carrageenan - which is also used in the food industry and it's really hard to digest. Definitely not a good ingredient, not at all.

I think the elf brow+mascara gel is sectioned off just so you don't cross contaminate and get brow powders etc in your eyes 👀

The Makeup Forever HD concealer in the lightest shade Y21 that you call "basically white" is the perfect shade for my skin. Its not the best under eye concealer though as its the same shade as my skin and therefor not that brightening. But when my skin is "basically white" I probably dont need that much brightening anyways. I use white concealer under the eyes. Its quite surprising though that a concealer which has so few shades, has one this light. I think I have 3 concealers in total that are this light (not counting white ones) and Ive tried all brands I can ever think of.

You got me totally hooked on that rêve de miel lip balm! I suggest you try the avocado eye treatment by Kiehl's, it's magic! Whenever I take off heavy eye makeup it completely calms down my sensitive skin 😍

Wanted to thank you for recommending the origins eye cream a couple of videos ago. Best eye cream I have ever used and results are so fast now I am not sure to do with all my other eye creams because they don’t even compare to this stuff.

BeautywithEmilyFox Philosopy Purity, Holy Grail already repurchased, Lancome Definicils my favorite, already repurchased, Lancome Cils Booster, just ordered more, Jack Black lip balm, just ordered 4 more, Philosophy Microdelivery Resurfacing Peel, will repurchase, Crème de la Mer, will not repurchase( I love it but it's just too expensive and I don't feel the formula is the same thanks to Estee Lauder), NO7 Lift & Luminate Foundation, already repurchased, Anastasia Brow Wiz, just repurchased a new one, Essence Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel, just purchased 2 replacements, Origins Make A Difference Plus Ultra Rich Rejuvenating Cream, will repurchase when I finish some of my others that I need to use up, Origins High Potency Night A Mins Mineral enriched Renewal Cream , will repurchase, L'oreal Lash Paradise, will not repurchase (not a fan), Pixi Tinited Moisturizer, just ordered more, YSL Touche Eclat, undecided, used it for years, testing 4 others that are supposed to be dupes or close to dupes, so far, they aren't as good in my opinion.

Yes, I have it and I'm using it now. I searched and watched every You Tube video I could find for dupes of it. No7 Radiant Glow isn't bad but I actually like the L'oreal Magic Lumi and Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch better than the NO7 Radiant Glow. I also got Eddie Funkhouser Lux Light Illuminator Highlighter. I swatched all 4 on my arm, then 2 shades of my YSL and one reason I love Touche Eclat is the reflective quality. The No7 looked very flat and matte compared to all the others. I have all of these new ones that are supposed to be "dupes" and I'm still grabbing my sample cards of Touche Eclat more than I am using them. I just ran out of both of my YSL so now I will have to use the o called dupes. So far, none look as good on my eyes. I may decide to settle on one that I like best or break down and repurchase YSL but that price, considering it doesn't last me that long, isgetting ridiculous.
