did you have any problems with shipping? im about to order a solar and im worried it will show up damaged or that i wont be able to return it if it does. there doesnt seem to be any return or shipping insurance available

No problems at all! The box had a few dings in it when i received it but the thick foam inside protected it perfectly. My guitar shipped from Italy > Germany > New York > Florida. So it went a long ways and stayed in mint condition. If I remember correctly, Solar gives a grace period for receiving damaged goods. Be sure to look up their return policy and requirements. Congrats on ordering your Solar btw! Stay brutal! \m/ \m/

One of the few gloss guitar solar makes. How do you like the frets and overall finish?

Sorry for the late reply! Im not a dedicated KZbinr lol But to answer your question - the neck and finish are outstanding. I was a little worried after reading a lot bad reviews about Solar's ebony fret boards being prone to cracking, but I have zero so far and the playability of the neck is superb.

Why did yours not come with a gig bag?

I believe it's because the body is a common style that's compatible with most cases. Unlike the V body that requires a special case. I think Ola realizes that some of the more extreme body styles can be more expensive when buying cases so he includes gig bags for those.

It was my understanding that tires are shipped out of tune

It was slightly out of tune when initially opening the box. Due to the temperature and humidity changes at different altitudes that's understandable. But it was setup for E standard tuning though.
