Two of the victims (a married couple) were burnt to death inside their car. They were identified from a chip in their pet dog that was thrown clear in the impact. Doing what you’re supposed to do to keep yourself and other road users safe is *not* an option it is a *necessity* That HGV driver got an 8 year sentence. Read that again - 8 years - for killing three people. No. They're not. They can pull you over but can't arrest you or anything - they can conduct a "citizen's arrest" though and hold you until police arrive, but then so can anyone else. They're there to help with traffic flow mostly
