The worst part isn't the sea level rise, it's the change in water density due to desalinization. That disrupts the ocean currents and weather patterns.

Wow thank you I have been watching A23a for a couple months now but never understood most of it until now thank you for explaining in still not sure what an ice shelf means though

Put a tray inside your freezer and fill it up with water. Next day you'll have an ice shelf 😅😅😅

Ice expand 10% of its mass. When the ice melts the ocean leather drops 10% of the total mass of ice. There is no possibility of flooding. Buoyancy covers the ice in the water. The ocean level cannot rise from melted ice there is not enough ice.

Once an iceberg is afloat on the sea surface, the level won't change. Ice that sits on land contributes all of its mass to the current sea level, once it melts or drifts into the sea.

According to IPCC sea level rise is mainly due to . Thermal expansion .

There are ruins of ancient cities hundreds of feet below today's sea level. Ice doesn't just sit flat on the ocean in Antarctica. There are glaciers and snowcap mountains all over Earth. As the global temperature rises, more glaciers melt and all water flows towards the oceans..

Ice in the sea. when it melts will not raise the sea leaves. because the mass is already in the water. however ice that is on land and the water runs in the ocean. then the water goes up.

If ice expands then when it all melts won't sea levels drop

So make me understand why there is more water in the ocean with the iceberg broken off from a Bigger iceberg that is also in the water. When it melts isn't it the same weight froze or melted. Berg or water it's the same Mass and it broke off from another bigger iceberg and again it's in the same Ocean as the others. Seems to me nothing has changed as far as the water level. So.. ??

This could be a naturally occurring event that has a time line that could be 100s or 1000s year cycles that we are just starting to understand. Just like our 4 seasons, perhaps earth has other seasons that cycle through every 1000 or 2000 years.

We're now in the midst of the six months long Antarctic summer. The warmest recorded temperatures have been around -30 celcius, with regular snowfall. The iceshelf drift is an awesome phenomenon helping to cool distant regions, thus preventing global warming which has been a scam of the Holocaust-Mafia, all along 😅😊😊😮

As the solid multi ton of ice becomes multi tons of liquid how will the moons gravity effect the liquid mass? Will the additional mass draw the moon closer to earth? Will the mass create elevated high tides? Will the liquid tons of mass push further down on the earths mantle enough to push up more magma from the core? Does the additional liquid mass create more pressure for deep sea creatures [in the aspect of it being enough to harm them] like increasing gravity would to surface dwellers?

The biggest problem we have is the desalination ofnthe ocean and the heating of the landmass exposed by melting ice...that ice will raise sea levels but not at a catastrophic level. Ocean temp will change currents will change. This global warming scare is only being entertained by miss informed or not informed people. Earth natural warms ice melts levels rise but returns to a balance. Think we should worry about a nuclear war or a astroid hitting us. Then again this just my opinion...hopefully mankind can pull our heads outta the sand and start working as a united team.

That ice has already displaced the water. Sea levels wont rise whatsoever. Only ice that sits on land can displace water and rise sea levels.

It's Sea ice, not glacial ice it may dispute the salt content, it won't raise sea levels. Only Glacial ice cream will raise it. I ask, what about the he underwater volcanos that are melting the ice? Every action results in a reaction. Harry Chapin on e has a song, perhaps not just for humans, but for the universe," All my life's a Circle". Sun up till sun down. Don't be scared about nature, be more worried of the people setting feR u most us.
