hello. you are really great at what you do! I can see from the comments that everyone expects advice from you on what and how. you are a great inspiration for me but unfortunately I am not at the same stage as you. We simply need instructions from you on where to start. i.e. how to connect a switch, knob, LED, what to connect cable by cable to. step by step! best regards and I hope you will find some time to present something like that. there can even be photos in the community. great

@@krzysztofcielecki7860 Hi thank you for the kind words. I have a basic video on the channel about wiring things up, then programming it all in mobiflight. The only thing it doesn’t cover is the panel building itself but that’s simple as cut some MDF wood to size and then drill holes in the appropriate places for switches etc to fit, then paint. Check out the tutorial vid: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eYiUZ2Ntoc12m5osi=tMnYsaN_76H_f_oi I might do another one though/ a bit more of a guide as you mention. Cheers

@ hi sorry yes; kzbin.info/www/bejne/eYiUZ2Ntoc12m5osi=tMnYsaN_76H_f_oi As for the boards, they are from Amazon, they’re Elegoo 2560 R3 boards and also I have a couple of Elegoo Uno cards running too. They work great! 👌

Congratulations, very good job. Time will come for your laser projectors or TVs. Very nice.
@My320Sim
@My320Sim 11 күн бұрын
@@aerovolsim5975 yeah a bigger screen would do the sim wonders but it’s off the cards for the time being. I have been looking at some projectors but they all need a darker room to be working best, and sadly the sim is in a usually very bright room. The TV route looks good but large TVs with a refresh rate of 120Hz or more are crazy money!
@aerovolsim5975
@aerovolsim5975 8 күн бұрын
@@My320Sim Hello! That’s very fair. To appreciate flight simulation, you often need to combine brightness (to better see your instruments) and display size. The size of the display makes all the difference, because it’s immersive. - If you opt for TVs, you need at least a 75-inch curved 120 Hz minimum. By placing the lower base of the TV frame at elbow height (arm folded when seated at the controls). - If you choose video projectors, it would be better if it is laser in a dedicated room, and the horizon line must correspond to eye level when you are seated at the controls. It’s true, all of this requires very precise adjustment, and costs a lot of money that could be made profitable by selling flight sim sessions! But when we are passionate, we tend to go all the way. Happy flying!

Very cool 😎 Where did you get the speed brakes, flaps and parking brake sections of the pedestal? Or is it all 3D printed? And nice aircraft models in the background 🤓
@My320Sim
@My320Sim 12 күн бұрын
@@mr.airspace Thank you! Yeah, if I had a 3D printer I probably would have taken that route but instead I got the modules from FlightSimPM. They’re very good with backlighting and the lock mechanism on the flaps and spoiler. A 3D printer is being considered as I think it would do wonders for the sim! Could literally make anything then, also hear they can be used to make backlightable panels :)

Winwing FCU/EFIS the way to go. There is no way to build a comparable unit at their price point.

@@AbstractTech1 hi I will try to check this tomorrow for you. I used the presets on mobiflight using the SimConnect option and not the FSUIPC. I think it was Terr or Terrain - I can’t remember. Try searching for ND though and see what pops up. Sometimes they’re labelled counter intuitively

@@My320Sim thanks! by the way, how do you wire like a lot of wires to one ground pin?
@My320Sim
@My320Sim 11 күн бұрын
@ the way I did it was just wiring all the negative pins of the switches together and then the last one just goes off to ground on the board. Basically just connecting all the negative pins in series, pin to pin and then have one go off to the card GND pin

also how'd u get the chair? thanks
@My320Sim
@My320Sim 11 күн бұрын
@@AbstractTech1 The chair was a standard desk chair - I think it’s an Ikea one but I got hold of some Airbus seat cushion covers and they just about fit. The back one is a bit small though. They look the part though when tucked in and held in place. I use Velcro on the chair and the covers already use Velcro on the aircraft so they just attach with that. The belts are a racing harness off eBay and then I swapped the two shoulder straps with retractable seatbelts, they are just regular universal lap straps for things like golf buggies and tractors etc, but they attach to the back of the seat and feel like the real thing when fastened

on your overhead what did you use for the overhead panels e.g. plastic ,wood ,metal. Aswell did you paint any of the lines on or did you get them printed?
@My320Sim
@My320Sim 12 күн бұрын
@@gage-wu3er hi, thanks for the comment! The overhead is all wood construction. I used MDF for the panels. They were cut to size according to measurements available on OpenCockpits’ website. They then had holes drilled for the various buttons and switches. I then painted the panels with Flannel Grey paint from B&Q. Once dry I used vinyl stickers to create the text and lines. Because they are wooden they won’t backlight so at night the panels can be a bit dark but by daytime it looks the part :)
