Hello captain, and thank you for this amazing video! I was wondering, what kind of aircraft do you fly? And also i want to ask you this: How good do you need to be at math to become a pilot? I have dreamed of beeing a pilot since i was 5 years old, but i am really not good at math at all, and i'm soon 23, i fear i'm getting to old to get started. Any comment and tips are greatly appreciated! I just had to grab this opportunity to ask a real life pilot! Thank you :)

Why are you doing stick down position while acceleration on the runway ?
@mikethyme123110 жыл бұрын
I think is related to the wind
@janmaythakkar849910 жыл бұрын
its bcoz the initial thrust is too high and it gives sudden jerk alike a whillie on bike it does so to avoid it its pushed down
@ahm_76710 жыл бұрын
janmay thakkar has got it 100% correct! It helps keep the nose wheel firmly on the ground by using the down force created by the thrust pushing on the elevator. Gives the pilot an extra bit of control on the ground in which the stick is essentially returned to normal between 80 and 100kts. I know a few buddies at my flying club who us this technique in the Cessna!

Hi, sorry for not responding, I'm not yet used to answer my viewers comments on a regular basis. I think charlieechovictor answered quite well for me. I'd add that you need to do some math to understand aerodynamics and navigation, but fortunately not at a too high level. Does trigonometry mean something to you? That's about it! But you need to have a structured mind to be a pilot, that's maybe the relation to math... What kind of aircraft do I fly? Only A340 for about 10 years...
