Can you imagine how frigidly cold it must be there in Antarctica, it must be about -50 or -60 degrees. I know in the wintertime there it gets colder than -100, but that's when it's dark outside and when nobody would be going outside because it would simply be too dangerously cold. Aircrafts at that time of year don't even take off or land, do they? Because engines would freeze up and not work within a few minutes of being exposed to that low of temperatures, wouldn't it?

It's important to point out that isn't really snow. It's ice. Antarctica is the world's largest desert: it only gets around five inches of precipitation per year. Although the ice is derived from snow, the ice covering Antarctica is the result of around 60 million years of (minimal) snowfall that has never had the opportunity to melt off. Most of you will be ahead of me on this point already: if you only ever defrosted your refrigerator every 60 million years it would be almost indistinguishable from Antarctica, and just like Antarctica it'd be over-run with Polar Bears 🐻❄ . And trust me: from personal experience you don't want Polar Bears in your refrigerator, they eat everything and are quite anti-social. So defrost regularly folks. End of lecture. You're welcome :) 🤣
