Thank you to the highway maintenance team for your hard work!

Thank you for keeping us informed, I have been avoiding the A421 like the plague. Whatever we might think of the design of this junction that allowed it to flood, full marks to the recovery and repair crews who have worked so hard.

I know it's completely daft, but I could watch this process for hours. Fascinating the way these machines and guys work together to carry out their work. Much better than anything on the telly! Thanks WN.

Have they cleared the blocked storm drains yet?

Confused as to why they need to plane off the top surface and re tarmac. We have an A road locally that regularly floods each winter and has just been under water for 10 days, it never gets resurfaced after a flood. The A road at Welney was under water for 100 days last winter but the tarmac was fine

Might be because the traffic levels on the A421 are really quite heavy so they are taking no chances with the surface breaking up when the underpass reopens.

I've never know a road to be resurfaced due to flooding either ! I've seen major A roads be under water for days that were drained & went back in to use.

@@WhiskeyGulf71 I've just realised the A421 is a trunk road so maintained by National Highways who appear to be awash with cash compared to County Councils who look after most roads
