Well well, I couldn't believe my eyes when I asked KZbin for something from VA-192 history. Low and behold pictures of my first cruise came on the screen, I was there as a plane captain and remember most all of the pilots in the pictures. I made three cruises with VA-192 last two working in the jet shop. Thanks for posting this video, as I sometimes look around for any mention of the squadron, I have followed them pretty much consistently. Thanks again!

I built Revell model kits of Oriskany and Bon Homme Richard when I was 12. Thank you and others for their service. My family immigrated from Asia in the 1960’s. My parents were poor, but their kids (us) are millionaires. Greatest. Country. On. Earth.

Amazing! My father in law was on this ship. I was looking to show his grandsons. He worked on the flight deck. Thank you for posting this. Just amazing.

Thanks for archiving this. It’s also amazing how video and photo technology has evolved. Built in China though.

I was aboard the the Bonny Dick for the 1964 and 1965 in the Intelligence office. I was Pt3 and Pt2. So I have met you on that cruise. I retired in 1988 (After 25 years) as an ISC. Helped you and other pilots in mission planning. Met Joe Tully, CAG Wesponeer, for an "Alfa" strike planning best approaches to cover the target. This may have been when a trawler was sunk in Vinh when a bull pup went through the pier. Haven't thought of that mission in years.

My Dad was on this ship in 1951-52, during the Korean war. Back then it had a straight deck and flew prop planes I think the were Corsairs. He was on the ship when it went to Bremerton Washington and it was fitted with the canted deck that you see in these pictures. He would have loved to see these 8mm movies.

Hi George, I hope you are well ! You should consider having David start a KZbin channel and ask him to edit and post some of your home movies....they were incredible, as well as historic aviation first hand experience that many would find hugely informative and entertaining! Tell everyone I said hello ! Chris (Karen's old friend)

Bon Homme Richard is French for Good Man Richard, named by John Paul Jones for his ship to honor Benjamin Franklin.
