I’m pretty sure that’s done on purpose. In his hangout event, we get a little more insight on their dynamic when they were younger, and Adelinde says that Diluc used to be pretty cheerful and rambunctious and got up to all sorts of shenanigans (and, in a turn of tables, was usually the one who roped Kaeya into mischief). I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Kaeya looks at Klee and sees a young Diluc, and that’s a part of why he likes her so much.

As a person who's favorite character is Kaeya I don't know how it took me so long to discover your channel 😂 This video is amazing, I love Kaeya and Klee spending time with each other, he's like her cool uncle. I was so happy with this version's event, it was so wholesome seeing Kaeya tell Klee stories, role-playing with her, holding her hand(they literally held hands in the cutscene at the end it was so cute AAAAAA), and protecting her. I was so sad for Klee when the brothers fighting was disturbing her and then Kaeya stepped in and it was so heartwarming.
